Kenya weighs in on Porsha's confusion about the Underground Railroad.

on Dec 23, 20130

I’m not fond of ghosts, but there definitely was some unusual energy in the mansion. No, Kandi should not have taken the master bedroom. She was invited on this trip and she should have asked NeNe before claiming it out of respect and decorum. But I guess us “hos” were getting on her nerves. Why Porsha asked a complete stranger to sleep in the same bed with her… I can’t be bothered.

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

Visiting the first African church was bitter sweet. Steeped in culture and history, I was amazed to see it first hand as I have other historical sites around the world. When the guide pointed out the actual markings that the iconic Harriet Tubman and or others used to identify the safe stops for slaves seeking freedom along the Underground Railroad, it was amazing to see.

Kenya....I hope you bring up some things   at the reunion viewers are finding confusing about Porsha...we hear her and her mom discussing Kordells control and not giving Porsha money....but then we see Porsha...her mom and sister laughing about Porshas many material posessrions....as if they forgot they were going to use the "he didn't give me squat card"....

If she had no cash it was because she did not go to the bank....who carries cash these days?   I see their demise as Porsha trying to be a ready made lady of society...one that dix not have to work too hard to get it....even now we see footage of her showing her family her rental house with the wide eyes of a child who doesn't realize this is real life...you have to have a niche to be popular with the public...what is hers....none that we see

I for one believe she embarrassed Kordel and his family and he could not see being able to lavish this woman with a superficial lifestyle...so why wait for him to go broke trying....

I really would like her to address why it was so important to confuse viewers by stating Kordell did not support her properly..but then had to kick her mom out of a bedroom to fit all her stuffffff!

I have never been able to dumb down for people just to be their friend....I enjoy adult conversations about a wide array of topics....when I speak with children....I speak as one would to a child that age...to talk to an adult woman who still talks like a kid is very annoying....not enjoyable....and all around boring...

Dear Lord, it's so painful at times to watch how uneducated and unintelligent Porsha is.  I guess the old saying "you don't know what you don't know" is way too real.  And by the way, why does a single women need an 8,000 square foot home?!  Honestly, the fact that she'd waste her money on that much rent/utilities and other costs shows how very low on the IQ scale she really is.  I'm not saying she doesn't seem like a decent person, but she's definitely a simpleton.  Please Bravo....can we all say goodbye to Porsha?

Really was sad, and it was even sadder when all the ladies truly tried calmly and with kindness yet direct what it was and how it was not some iron real train picking up slaves at certain stops. But she still did not get it no matter who tried to explain and even after several tries she kept right on over talking, not listening and not grasping how it was not a real train...she kept saying even as she was walking out the door with the ladies- so who was driving the train, how did it make it stops, how did the slaves know what stop to get on...somebody must have seen it since it was a big old train, who drove the train, I mean it couldn't be electric blah blah blah while lady after lady tried to explain over and over again and almost everyone said point blank Porsha it WAS NOT A REAL TRAIN, yet she didn't get it, she would pause for a brief moment with her mouth wide open and then go right back into how did they make the stops....where were the tunnels....how did they get them under the ground...until all the ladies just shook their pretty little heads, smiled and kept it moving and let Porsha just keep talking to herself and try and figure out how a huge "possibly electric" train made stops under the ground to pick up slaves....bless her heart.

I have to agree with Kenya about how shameful it is that Porsha could not be bothered to learn anything about how her freedom was won and the sacrifice African-Americans made so that she could shop as much as she wants and spend extravagantly on shoes and hair extensions. Disgraceful! I am offended at her ignorance. Was she just absent the day that subject was discussed in her southern high school? Get real!.!! I am sure her southern teachers made a point of covering this subject with their students  several times during her  education. I know she is not a "mental giant" but you would think at some point she would have paid attention. Then she made all kind of excuses when she was on Andy Cohen's Watch What's Happens:Live instead of just agreeing that it was unforgiveable that she didn't know. We can forgive that but excuses just make you look more pathetic.

I don't understand why Kenya doesn't have a bigger fan base. She is an educated woman who shows she truly cares about other women. I am glad she had the courage to speak up about the embarrassment named Porsha. How could Porsha represent her grandfather's foundation and not know what the Underground Railroad was?! Appalling. Additionally, her shopping for $7K pair of shoes and renting an $8K/mo., six-bedroom house is a further embarrassment to her grandfather.

so glad you said something about Porsha not knowing the Underground Railroad was not a real train. My jaw dropped and the first thing I thought was how Porsha did not get a good education.  Kenya, you are spot on.

As others have said, I like you so much more this season compared to the past.  It SEEMS you're more relaxed with your position with these women and it's good to see your intelligence shine through.  Yes, you're still a sassy, but now you're funny, not nasty.  It's much more appealing and endearing.  Like your playfulness too.  I'm not going to jump on the Kenya bandwagon right away, but I do like the changes you've shown.  Smart, witty, non-confrontational, and confident; THAT's beautiful!

I commend you for winning Miss USA and also opening doors for women of color,  you are one woman who can be looney....what was the purpose of flaunting your gun?  That made me cringe because you have the tendency to act a fool out of the blue.  I hope the best for you.  When will we see this prince you've been talking about?

Sorry Bravo. but I am not buying it , there is no way that Porsha could not have known the historical facts about the Underground Railroad; the granddaughter of a Civil Rights Activist and growing up in Atlanta, GA, no way.  That was scripted RIGHT?

Kenya...I must say that all the seasons before I couldn't stand you but watching you on this season I'm turning a corner and think that you have really come to care about other people and how to relate with the other ladies....I'm glad that I have changed my mind about you, however, I still remain a little guarded and will continue to watch and after this season let you know how you did...keep going Kenya like you are....I like this Kenya much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe porsha is that misinformed I think that she is playing dumb for the cameras. Similar to jessica Simpson eons ago with the chicken of the sea comment.

So if Porsha did not learn about the underground "railroad" that makes her an embrassment to her family? That's so stupid and mean to say something like that. It's never too late to learn. .

achtungbaby

I was surprised by Porsha's ignorance about the Underground Railroad.  That's something they teach in grade school.  The fact that she still couldn't grasp the concept after the other ladies tried to school her made me sad.

Kenya, I think you need to get over your issue with Phaedra.  Actually, both of you need to move past them.  Hating someone takes SO much energy!  If you've said you didn't proposition Apollo and Phaedra can't accept that, all you can do is keep it moving.

From last season it was clear that Porsha lacked substance but for someone to always speak about her grandfather's legacy and know NOTHING about what that legacy truly means is disturbing...to say the least.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this week episode. I know some of the women had a few issues, but I laughed and cried and laughed again (lol). It was truly touching and I think Kenya and Porsha open up and hopefully this is not Porsha's last season with RHoATL. I think she is growing as a person on the show and feel that Bravo/Andy should keep the same women for next season.

What this episode showed was that Kenya and Porsha really have a sincere heart. I also hope NeNe doesn't have anything to do with stating she want Porsha off the show. I also hope that Bravo/Andy stop allowing any housewives (Bravo/Andy's favorite) to dictate to them. I don't think any of the housewives can hold up the show alone. It showed any and most can be replaced.

NeNe had to give shade that Kenya and Porsha was getting along. I know the episodes coming NeNe and Kenya will not be getting along. NeNe must feel that she has to be the Queen of the show because she no longer has two of her jobs on TV. I like NeNe - I just don't like NeNe's character when she is vindictive and mean spirited. People liked the fun tell it like she mean it person. I just don't want the old NeNe from season three back. She was really over the top with Kim on that tour bus. She doesn't need to be that type of person; she can come with her shade etc. She is so funny with her digs, but not when she is being so nasty. NeNe and Phaedra are the best when it comes to throwing shade and digs. What was it when Phaedra stated I threw it in the fireplace and it went up in smoke? I love it. I just don't like the real bitter and over the top mean and hateful spirit of any of the housewives. It is okay to do their job, but they must remember they are on TV/Cable that can actually ruin their careers in the future.

Nene Leakes, Kenya Moore, Kandi, Cynthia, and Porsha you stay,!! tens across the board. Phaedra Parks it's time for you to "Sashay away," this will be the second time you got caught in a lie. Kenya called it out and said you did more than just date Monique husband, and he calling you out in the next episode. Last season you lied to Cynthia rite in front her face, and she had an voicemail telling the truth. Yes,!! you need to stick to your new born baby and many jobs.

You said that NeNe was wrong to judge another mother, yet, on this blog, you dogged Porsha' s. They failed her by telling her to focus on getting a man to take care if her. You're going to claim that we took your comments out of context. Well, I won't judge. Your mom did a great job w you. That would hurt, right.

I don't often agree with you, but it I true that Porsha is as dumb as dirt. Do not blame it on her youth...she should have learned about the underground railway and the Civil Rights movement in grammar school. She is beautiful but dumb. Her redeeming factor is that she is head of a charity. She has money, stature in the community, but fails in her heritage history which is important. How sad. But Kenya, you are also sad finding fault in everyone but yourself. Both you and Porsha are the same....really. Neither of you has a clue about life.

Don't blame the education system for Porsha's IGNORANCE.  I'm sure they didn't gloss over the subject during ANY History class(es.)  What Porsha listened to & how she interpreted it is strictly on her.  She was probably painting her nails.  Blame her family & blame her, and that's it.

Kenya,  you made be intelligent, but your shade throwing at Phaedra and disrespecting of Porsha and the others really tarnishes your beauty.  BTW,  where is the man you say you're in love with now?

As usual Kenya the ride on the coat tails, or steal from someone else, is just trying to profit off of Porsha's mistake, and acting like she is all knowledge, but the fact is, if it is coming out of her mouth, don't want to hear it, won't read it, will fast forward!  No matter how many facts she looks up and cuts and pasts to her blog, that since that is all she has to do is sit and write about, because know one wants to be around her unless they are forced to. She is pathetic and always will be!

That was so embarrassing that Porsha, who is the granddaughter of a Civil Rights icon did not know about the underground railroad. WOW!  I am with you on THAT!

You are so right...I can't help but wonder if Porsha was just pushed along during her school years due to her family name in Atlanta. It was painful to watch Phaedra & Kandi try to explain it wasn't a "real train". Porsha needs to go back to school & stop being consumed with her hair, makeup, shoes, etc. Porsha ALWAYS sounds so uneducated whenever she speaks, it's amazing how a person of 32 yrs old has made it through life knowing so little about real life! Tell me, how does this happen?

Kenya will forever be my all time favorite on RHOA  , she tells it like it is and she doesn't care kinda like Nene. But on the whole Porsha underground railroad fiasco. Kenya should've just commented on it on the show and just left it there, But i do feel like Porsha thinks she has this pass to say ignorant things which makes me not like her on the show. But overall Porsha has stated that the producers are letting her go by this season, b/c of her annoying story line

Kenya, I used to live only for my ex husband. When we got a divorce I decided I would live for me. My new goal has been to get an education. Thank you for your blog. You are a great example to women. I have learned that a man dose not validate me as a women. Keep your head up. You are a strong, beautiful, hard working, and are not afraid to stand up for yourself.  I enjoy watching you on the show.

This is what happens when these women brag about their net worth, marriage, legacy, celeb friends, etc.  Emphasis here on humility.  The viewers would not be so harsh on Portia if she did not brag as much as she did since her first appearance on this show.

Brag when you are educated, self-sufficient, and independent.  Get an education, no matter what age, that is something to hone and be proud of, not marrying rich!!!

You will learn!

I actually don't agree with the education system failing her. Porscha is only about 7 years older than me and I remember learning about The Underground Railroad in elementary school and on up through high school. At some point in time you have to take responsibility for what you do and don't know and I'm sorry I just don't buy that she was never taught this information.

Kenya should concentrate on finding a real boyfriend or husband.............. not pretend ones!  She's way,  way past her childhood playtimes where pretend boyfriends, princes,  and husbands are acceptable and cute.

Kenya is  one hostile and antagonistic person; wonder how she won that Miss USA (or America?) 1892.... pageant  must not have much candidates that year!

you always want to jump on the hate wagon, to make yourself look better, that's the cancer in the community, always trying to make people that already look bad  look worse, of course leave it to you to make sure you have something to say about everyone and their mistakes pointing out all their issues, your always the first, and the loudest....I skim through your blogs, and when you have air time I usually hit fast forward....yawn

I cant believe you have the nerve to try and tear Porsche down when your clearly the most boring person on the show besides the rumor that you set in motion last season so that you would have a story line this season, (Sleeping with Phaedra's husband) you have nothing going on. We don't see you working, we all saw you homeless, and you really showed how classless you are at the lunch with Mynique. So maybe before you start handing out history lessons and bashing...no excuse me educating Porsche you should go take a class on how to be a true upstanding woman who knows when to humble herself. The second you learn all those things you will have real friends and a man. This blog clearly shows that you are not comfortable in your own skin. A woman  who bashes someone who is damn near 10 yrs younger than they are is sad. Instead of being a mentor you were an ass. America is already harsh and this blog just fed the fire. I understand you'll do anything to be relevant, but this is too low for your age and you make a lot of older women look bad. Whats sad is there are a lot of you out there that make it really hard for us. You hate on youth instead of trying to help. 32 is not young but it is younger than you. If you dont have class can you at least have and show a littlte of the wisdom your older age should have brought you and apologize for this unnecessary blog.

This is coming from the same woman who has not held herself in a positive light since she came on this show?  Do not throw stones.  Just give Porscha an education, this is the way you can honor all those who fought for freedom.  You could better honor them by getting off this show.

I agree with you about her taking her duties seriously. I don't think there are any contracts for the Real Housewives that stipulate that, if they had it in their contract they would follow it. RHoATL is not the only franchise. I think RHoBH has been great this season in posting their blog. Andy Cohen also has the same problem. So, if their employer doesn't do it - they are saying they don't have to do it. If they are penalized for not posting their blog each week, I guaranty they would be posting every week. It just came to me, maybe one penalty is that they cannot promote any of their projects on the site and have other stipulations for them if they are under contract with Bravo.

RHoOc started this franchise and they blogged weekly. They are making their other jobs their priority. There is nothing wrong with using this show to promote whatever they want, but they should respect their viewers and fans by writing a blog weekly. If people stopped watching their show, there would be no show. I personally feel they are showing a lack of respect to the fans and viewers of the show.
