Porsha Stewart

Porsha opens about her audition for Kandi's musical and her new music career.

on Feb 190

Hello loves, I've missed you guys! I've just been so busy running my Fortune 500 company. LOL, JK! I have a lot of awesome surprises to share with you all soon!

Let’s jump into the most recent episode. First off I would like to thank all of you for tuning in each week. Up to now it may seem as if my RHOA sisterhood is slowly crashing and burning. After each week I have realized that these are real situations that people go through, and some of those times can be tough. After going through my recent split, the last thing that I want to happen is to lose my sisters. Sometimes we feel "tried" and pushed in corners. But at the end of it all, we end up making it right. As long as we try to treat others on how we would want to be treated, then the ups and downs will fade away.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I was finding out I got the part in Kandi’s play "A Mother's Love." The journey to the audition was long and hard. I'll give you a little background. I started singing when I was younger in church, took some time off, then came back and sang as an adult on my church praise team. S/O High Praise! As time moved along I started singing demo tracks for various producers and studios. I ended up getting married and ended up losing my support system that wanted to help push me into the music industry towards my musical dreams. Well long story short, now I'm on my own and ready to follow my dream!

awesome you keep it moving lady, it's so unfortunate that your ex all of a sudden has all this negative mess to say about you but I think he is coming up with crap because you are moving on and doing what you want to do, being who you want to be, it sounds like jealousy to me I hope you don't get much fall out from his sudden stories, I don't believe  a word he says, oh and peter really needs to mind his own business

Congratulations on your new endeavors. You seem to be growing up and showing us more of the real you. The only thing I didn't like about this past episode is when you were jumping around like a teenager. Other than that, you got it.

I don’t know why people (Peter, Nene) keep bringing back ex-husbands or ex-boyfriends to the show. I did not like when they did that to Kenya and I don’t like they are doing the same to Porsha.

It is a real housewives show. Men are having more relevance than the women. Please.

Girl this show needs the lightness you bring with your zany personality. Of course you get facts wrong on occasion, who doesn't?

Bravo, no more MEAN girls.

Porsha, I see that you look like a grown woman, but you act like a child, how old are you anyway, or maybe you are putting on an act for the camera? I don't know why you over stated how Marlo confronted Nene, I believe you used the word viciously or something like that. Granted Marlo was overly dramatic about not being invited to join Nene's team but she wanted to know why, there didn't have to be a fight, it could have been avoided if Nene didn't start with all her hatred. I guess you'll have your turn at being the center of trouble most likely if you stay on the show and don't turn out to be some huge singing STAR. ROTFLMAO. You have a pleasant enough voice but you're not that good. You wouldn't make it very far on American Idol or The Voice. Other than Kandi I don't see any of you "ladies" on RHW of Atlanta with a grain of redeemable qualities. You're all shallow and full of yourselves when the only star on the show is Kandi and she remains humble, which makes her very attractive, believable and REAL.

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha..ie Porsha.....child, please please please believe the only reason you got that role was because one, Khandi knew you needed the coins and something to do with your pathetic life and two, she needed a housewife name to help with the pull on tickets...cause nobody else bid for a role. Yeah you can sang, but com'on, your voice ain't that great, nor is your acting. Please please return to college, get a good solid education on something and get out here after the gig is up and get a real job!!

I have always liked you.  You are a breath of fresh air (in my opinion).  The paragraph about your singing the lead part, fainting and getting the holy ghost had me rolling with laughter.  You are like a gold fish swimming in the shark tank of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.  The sharks are all ugly with big mouths that are constantly open and you are small and pretty just swimming around here and there and just nowhere with an open mouth too. The difference is, your mouth is not open to eat or bite someone it is just "OPEN."

I do sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

She has a very good voice.  Needs a little training and a lot more self-confidence and Porsha will be fine in this play.

You have a beautiful voice. Keep doing what you need to, in order to move past your marriage to an insecure man who did what he could to keep you down. Keep sharing your gift of singing.  God bless.

Porsha, you ever heard the saying " you must not have a mirror or a friend because one of them would've told you the truth?" well this is purplediva/chachame known for keeping it all the way 100.  Baby you cannot sing.  You really should consider going to college or picking up some classes to really elevate your mind and knowledge of life and the world you live in.  I don't know how your acting is, but your singing, omg! no, and the fact that you thought somebody was driving the train on the underground railroad, no.  If you want the next man to come along and respect you as a grown woman, you need to get some knowledge about life, history, ect... watch the world news sometime, cnn, go to your local college or university and take some history courses, economic courses, honey please, as a friend don't be the sterotypical barbie, all beauty and no brains.  Said with much love, really.

I remember when you actually had to know music to get anywhere in the music business. Now people that sound just like everyone else does in a school choir can get a record deal without knowing one thing about being a musician. Mediocrity is the norm. It's too bad - there are so many deserving singers in the world that will never have the chance because an ex wife of a football player thinks she's special. Before anyone says it, I can out-sing this girl on my worst day.

Porsha, please stop with the all over the place runs - sounds awful.

Porsha I think you are really a sweet and naive  person, please don't change.  As for singing, you have a nice voice, but not quite good enough to make a singing career.  This is not meant to be mean, but truthful.

Wishing you nothing but the best in your singing career and other business ventures. You are a lovely, classy lady and I look forward to seeing you on the big screen or a musical. The best is yet to come!

Porsha, God bless you and good luck.

For the people acting foolish making comments to bash her, remember Kim could not sing at all, and she smokes.  Porsha can sing a tune, and with some work, she will prefect singing.

Really people???!!!  Give her a break.  She has been going through a really rough time with the divorce and it's obvious and lot of you have not gone through heartbreak.  If you had, you'd have some sympathy for her.  When you're heartbroken, you don't feel like doing anything.  Let alone blogging.  So, stop reading and throwing shade and show some support for this young black woman.

@Sheila6363  LOL...I said the same thang. Kim thanks to Khandi was the only one capable of pulling off a real hit and it took her blonde hair and top heavy top to bring that about and sadly the only people that bought it? Where the gays

@piperbeau  Thank God Bravo has dropped this girl for next season, I agree with NeNe in this case only....Porsha is nothing but a jump off, using anybody and anyone to promote her cause...ie Porsha.

@resolute2012  Friend, we got talented real singers out here who can't get a break.....its all about the song and material you pick to make it in this industry...Porsha's voice ain't gonna cut it nowhere.

@chachame  Well your opinion... I actually and as a singer myself think she has a voice, and so does kandi who has said it plenty of times.  I trust the opinion of a grammy singer songwriter over an anonymous hater online...

Pottymo13
Pottymo13

@spring9628  Please don't change? Are you serious? This girl desperately need to grow up and get with the real world. She's so stuck on the exterior of Porsha, ie the weave and clothes and Kordell's money and is not willing to look at the interior of what makes her tick. I'd say she desperately needs changing and yesterday!!

BeWiseNotFoolish

@Call_It_Out I don't think people are 'hating' on Porsha.  It sounds like some people are telling her the truth about her singing abilities.  Maybe it's better for Porsha to hear the truth now instead of investing money and years into a dream that'll never leave the ground.  There is value however in Porsha improving her life by educating herself with real time life experiences instead of doing the typical black girl thing selling hair.  Wendy Williams gave Porsha good advice.  Wendy told her that she doesn't have much time  to be naïve before she loses her creditability and looks completely foolish at her age.  Porsha is too old to be gullible and her Barbie doll personality and looks is shallow.  Porsha reminds me of the ditzy airhead chick that Suzanne Somers played in Three's a Company.  With all of the established female singers, Porsha's survivability rate in the music industry is nil to none.

@Call_It_Out people are so mean now a days it's crazy. why would anyone jump on her she is newly single and trying something on her own. SMH

@metoo2  - 'picking up a few books' won't do anything, she needs to READ the content of the books to get anything from them.

I am surprised that for someone who was from such a 'priviledged' family, she is so misinformed as she is. I don't know if I should laugh when I hear some of the things that come out of her mouth or pity her.

However, she's definitely has a talent for singing!! And she's definitely very pretty. I guess two out of three ain't bad.

@denise4925  Girl, please the only pains this girl is feeling is losing Krodell's coins!!

chachame
chachame

denise4925 I hear you, and I myself have gone through a divorce after a 20yr marriage with a man where I had to pay no bills, didn't know how to read a bill okay? but that was the time in my life when I gave birth to me.  In pregnancy you push when the contractions/pain comes, same in life, this is the time when you really look at who you are and challenge yourself to see just what it is you know, need to know and can do and need to do.  I am a better woman, a more knowledgeable woman, and talented woman and an independent woman because of how I pushed during my pain, I had to, I had two daughters I had to provide for, I went to school, surrounded myself with older women, and successful women.  This is no time to pat her on the back like a baby and sugar coat nothing, this woman has been taken care of all her life and knows nothing.  Keep it all the way 100.  If she don't push in the pain, she'll never bring to birth the WOMAN Porsha, her mind will stay elementary if somebody don't push her to get together.  I real man want a real woman.  Every man she gets is going to act like her daddy and treat her like a kid if she don't get it together.  If she that talented in music it will be there, she needs to get some education, some common sense and some life experiences, and if she wants to sing she needs a voice coach

@denise4925  I feel for Porsha and her divorce.  I like her,  But we the viewers watch and the blogs are supposed to be a recap of her thoughts.  Nothing for weeks and then this blog about her single dropping.  I didn't come on here for an infomercial.

Eurogirl

@denise4925 Oh please - her marriage was a sham. It was more like breaking up with a boyfriend. There were no children involved, she's still young and got over it pretty well if you ask me. Her only problem (other than being illiterate) is that she felt she deserved more money in the divorce.

@nicolet7490 @chachame  Haters????? The only reason Porsha was chosen for this lead role was to highlight this play with cast from ATL. Porsha was the only one that tried out  for a role and Khandi was being a business woman picking her.
