This week's episode, you are still just getting to know all of us. I think of this week as "the calm before the storm." As you've seen in the previews, my confronting Camille next week doesn't go over too well. So this week I will enjoy watching; all of us interact with our families.
I thought the party Taylor threw for Kennedy was gorgeous. The flowers were incredible and what beautiful desserts!
We were so excited to celebrate Portia's birthday. Mauricio and I decided to have another baby when our eldest Farrah left for college. Most of our friends were just starting their families and here we were, in our 30s, and we had one of our children leaving us already. That is when we decided to expand our family.
I first knew I wanted to be a mom when my sister Kathy had her first baby, Paris. She was so beautiful and sweet. My sister was such a young mom (as was my mom), and she loved the help that I was more than willing to give. When I was 12 years old I would have sleepovers and sleep In Paris' room with her. When everyone was asleep, I would sneak a sleeping Paris out of her crib and lay her next to me. I can remember feeling so much love toward that baby that I would hold her and start to cry. I'm not sure I quite understood why at the time. I remember thinking, "I can't wait to have one of my own that I don't have to share with anyone." My wish came true when I was 19 and I had my first daughter, Farrah. I know I was young, but I had an incredible support system with my mom and sisters. Being a mother came naturally to me. A wife, not as much. I was too young to understand the work that goes into a marriage. Plus, my parents were divorced when I was little, so I didn't exactly have great role models. I was divorced at 21. To this day Farrah's father and I are very close, and we all consider him family.
When I met Mauricio In 1994, everything fell into place. A lot of you have asked me where he is from. Mauricio is from Mexico City. He's Jewish and actually has no Mexican blood (don't say that to him though. He considers himself Mexican) His grandparents are from Russia on his father's side and Greece and Lithuania on his mother's side. He asked me to convert to Judaism, and it was an easy decision. Growing up in Beverly Hills, everyone was Jewish, and I always secretly wanted to be. I loved his family, and most importantly, I was madly in love with
him, and he loved both Farrah and me. We were fortunate enough to be blessed with three more daughters -- Alexia, Sophia, and Portia. Being a mom is something that I never take for granted. I love each and every moment with my girls. When Lisa commented at Portia's party, that she misses having little ones running around, I felt a little lump in my throat. How would that feel? How would I spend my days? I'm happy that I have a long time before I find out. However, I also know how quickly time
passes.
I love how down to earth you are. By far loveliest woman on any housewives show. Love love LOVE you.
YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY AND YOU ARE GORGEOUS. BOTH BIRTHDAY PARTIES WERE INCREDIBLE, BUT I PREFER YOURS.
You are my favorite! You're so real and people can relate to you. You're also a great mother and I love the relationship you have with your husband. Taylor and Chamille definitely don't have that with their husbands so it's nice to watch you and your family. You're also beautiful! The 2 brunettes on the show are the best... only thing, try to be a little nicer to your sister! I act the same way with mine so it's funny to watch it on television. Looking forward to the rest of the season. :)
Anybody can be a wife has a husband and a nice house like you but you NEED really to be more nice to your little sister, she is very nice and a looks like a really good mom too.
Love, Love, Love Kyle. I love your parenting style. I love your family, and how you guys interact with each other. I can really see that you love being a mom. It's hard these days to see someone that truly has it all, and you seem like you do. Enjoy it. Even some of your housemates are not at all happy in their relationships, and it just goes to show that money may buy you nice things, but it can't buy you love. I've been watching the housewives series for quite a while now, and I love the show, but you should know you are the one one to get me to comment. Enjoy your life girl. When I grow up I want to be just like you.
Kyle, I love seeing a child's birthday party that remains a child's birthday party. kudos to you and your family for focusing on the little ones and not turning a sweet party into an excuse for entertaining adults. Great job!
Hello, Kyle
Really enjoy watching you each week. I think the party you had for your daughter was well planned, and focused more on the children, which was nice.
I love seeing the scenery each week in BH, (being a New Yorker), as well as your interactions with the other ladies.
Glad you voted against marijuana. It definitely is a gateway drug. I was kind of appalled by Camille's comment that she "kept" her husband sober for 12 years. Believe me, alcoholics and drug addicts do NOT remain sober for anyone but themselves, so why she thinks she has that kind of power is baffling, but she does seem to be a little "off" and, personally, I find her silly little laugh and strange comments off-putting. If her husband wanted to "fall off the wagon", he would, no matter what she said or did. She needs to learn about addiction. She has to learn about a lot of things, it seems.
Thank you for always addressing your audience in your blogs. I do have a question, about your sister, Kim.
Why hasn't she blogged yet? I really like her, she seems so nice and quite grounded, too.
Please ask her to blog. I think she'll be surprised to see that she's got a lot of "fans" that want to hear from her, as well.
:)
I think you're a very nice person, that's the reason I am very surprised to read you don't consider you're husband mexican because he does'nt have "a drop" of mexican blood. Mexico has received inmigrants for hundreds of years, not as many as the US but plenty, I myself am a natural redhead of scotish and french ancestry but if you ask me I'm mexican and don't need a drop of indigenous mexican blood just like you don't need a drop of native american blood to call yourself an american. I'm used to the comments of people who rely on stereotipes but did'nt expected it from someone who married in to an antistereotipical mexican family like your husband's.
Mazel on your three week in a row win on the WWH's polls! I think that's certainly a Bravo record. It's so nice to see you being a hands on mom, kudos to you!
Your daughters birthday party looked a lot more fun and actually kid-oriented! Taylor's party was 'pretty' and flowery, but much more geared towards the adults than her child. At least that's what it looked like to me. Love the birthday alpacha, ducklings and miniature pigs! Awesome job, Kyle!!!
You are so amazing to your family and friends. How can you be so nasty sometimes to your sister? I have three sisters and I understand how tough it can be to like them all the time. But come on, every other word out of your mouth is a judgement. Take a look at the last eipsides and don't make any comments or try to defend yourself. Just watch and I think you will see what we all mean.
I love Pantene and just switched to their Relaxed and Natural line made for women of color. It is much richer and has a heavier conditioner. It is made for drier hair of women of color. Try it once and you will never go back.
Kyle, you are very pretty in a natural way. Do not ever cut your hair, it is your crowning glory. Please ignore all the religion comments, as it is no one's business but your own. Also, your little Portia has the best curls. It is probably a matter of time before she straightens her hair like the rest of Hollywood and beyond.
Kyle,
You are the sweetest and most gorgeous person in Hollywood. You have not changed thus far growing up in Hollywood, and PLEASE don't ever change! So down to earth! Such a role model for people to KNOW that they don't have to become a stuck-up snob just because they have Big Parts in life or just because they run into money. I love you Kyle!
TO Mexican? American?
Kyle is a human being and is not perfect and just because you feel one way in your own head, does not mean that somebody else will, and does not mean that they are purposely stepping on another persons' toes when they say something that somebody else may find offensive!
Hi Kyle,
Love watching you week after week! You are so real and a great Mother! Stay just the way you are and please don't change.
KYLE A FEW WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOU, DOWN TO EARTH, BRUNETT IN A BLEACH BLOND TOWN, TRUE TO YOURSELF, (UNLIKE SOME OTHERS ON THE SHOW) AND A WONDERFUL PERSON! I'M SO GLAD YOU ARE ON THE SHOW! KEEP IT REAL!
Wow! I never thought of you to be close minded until I read your blog. A Mexican is a blend of indigenous and castillian. Where are your roots from, German, Scottish? Do you walk around saying, I am not an American? Most people associate themselves with a race due to their birthplace nowadays or were they were raised and the culture they relate to. In fact in America, there are more blended families than ever, what should they say---that they are not American. Mexico has many immigrants, Chinese, Lebanese, Jewish, etc. just as we do here in America.
You have a lovely family and are a lovely lady, don't ruin it with ignorance.
The party was wonderful. I think it was just perfect. When your husband made the crack about the animals S*itting all over the yard my first thought was " that is exactly what my husband would say." You and your family seem so much more down to earth than the other families. I love how your relate to each other.
The love between you and your husband is so evident. You are very lucky and it's clear you both realize that. My husband is also Jewish and though we celebrate Christmas we also celebrate Passover and other holidays. It's not the rituals or holidays, it's the 'us' that's important. Who cares what anyone else thinks - your family is blessed.
It must be REALLY hard for you to have to explain all the troubles that Paris goes thru to YOUR children! Sex tapes, drugs etc... You seem to b doing a good job - good luck!
be nice to your sister!!!! you seem to be almost normal....but be nicer to her...she was moving into her house...come on...you have grown children who could have helped out where were they???? I have thrown many kids parties and it was nice to see....stay normal...
Please be nice to your sister. Didn't you have enuff help at the party. You're sister was moving. It's not always about what you want! Wasn't your husband there to help. Or anyone else in your family. You are always quick to critize Kim.
You continue to surprise me (in a good way) with how down-to-earth you are. I would have assumed you used the most expensive hair and make-up products and you actually use things I have in my own bathroom?? Love it!!! You are my favorite housewife of all the seasons and an inspiration for how to be positive, loving and real.
good grief, people!! she is not being racist, you asked where her husband is from and his nationality and she told you! who cares if she gave up her religion for someone she loves, we all negotiate with our spouses, otherwise there is no partnership, just "me, me me". It's not like she became a devil-worshipper, there are many paths to God. Kyle, ignore all those ridiculous comments, most of us knew what you meant, sheesh! your darned if you do, darned if you don't. having said that, you are my favorite all-time housewife of all the shows. it is so refreshing to finally see a real person who loves her family to pieces. i do not have any sisters, but i do know that the people you love the most often are the most exasperating! and even i can see kim could be exasperating. btw, i looked up your birthday to see how old you are and we have the same birthday! only i am a 1972 model, lol. thanks so much for the breath of fresh air, because i was almost totally done with the housewives franchise. you keep me watching.
Kyle, love you. You are nothing if not totally real. And for the record, I'm pretty sure your husband is the most handsome, and the most in love with his wife and children of any of the housewives. Just my opinion ;)
It was soooooo good to see you have a "normal" birthday party for your daughter!! As I remember correctly, it's all about the children - not the adults! What Taylor did was all about HER and how she could show off, totally un-cool! It seems you are more of a hands on parent than she is. You seem like a great Mom and I can see how your sister gets on your nerves, I've got a couple of those!!
Hi Kyle,
I absolutely adore you and your such a wonderful mother... Here we go again with people taking sometYour not hing you type to make you sound like your racist is pretty pathetic. I totally understand what you mean. I guess it's hard for other people. Again I truly adore you.... Who cares what these closed minded people say keep being you :)
I love you too! I have 5 sisters and they can be a royal pain, although, I love all of them, it is tough when they depend on you constantly. You have enough of your own things, she needs to back off a little. I feel bad for her as her face always looks so pained. She argues with everything you say. I don't think you can find or make her happiness, it needs to come from within. You are not mean to her. I think you are wonderful to her. I am sure we do not see all the "dependancy issues" in a one hour show.
Kyle I miss that heavy conditioner to. It was in the tube. I just used the last of it. They have something similiar in a square tub with a black lid. The ingredients are almost identical. I love viva glam 5 gloss as well!
Kyle, I am with Mauricio, he may not have the "mexican blood" flowing through his veins but if he grew up in Mexico City...he's got the culture and it is a beautiful one and a difficult one to let go of...I must admit!
You gave your daughter the perfect party. I think you are fantastic to your sister. She is obviously needy not be mention slightly annoying (sorry to say it but it is true and I think you appreciate honesty) and the fact that you have stood by her is terrific. Any educated person can see she needs to stand on her own two feet eventually! I hope you are not paying attention to these bloggers who want you to be nicer to Kim. If you are, she will lean on you her entire life! Don't worry about Camille, she is highly obnoxious and full of herself and good for you for telling it like it is.
Think you are cool but cut Kim some slack. She was moving, which is more of a challenge than a party. You did have a party planner, right? The fact that she came at all was amazing. She must have been exhausted and eager to get her home in order. Nevertheless, I like you and your sister. In fact, I think all of you women bring an interesting flavor to the show. Take care.
Kyle You are great and real! Your daughters party was expensive but real and you had fun with your child( unlike Lisa)Your party was for your daughter and her friends.Lisa needs to have you plan her parties and stop being sooooo FAKE!
You can tell your a good mom because you are hands on.Good for you!
Hi Kyle, I am a big housewife fan. I watch NYC, Jersey, DC, and now find myself getting hooked on Beverly Hills. :0) Like anyone I tend to form favorites with these shows, and so far you are my favorite BH house-wife! I like how real and down to earth you are. Also you are so family oriented, and seem to be really hands on with your children. I look forward to more episodes! Lovin' it!
You're a really beauitful woman, and your husband is gorgeous. I love the way you're with your children and husband. I think your sister envies what you have so please cut her some slack.
Hi Kyle, you were great on Watch What Happens Live, I bet you're a ball to hang out with! p.s. ask Kim to blog...she seems cool, and a lot of the fans love her too!
You are really a great girl, mom, friend...be a better sister. I know you love her but obviously things do not come as easy for her. Give her some slack. luv ur husband!!!
Kyle, I love u as well!! I really admire how strong of a woman you are. I am a single mother of a 2 year old and had honestly given up hope of finding someone that will love me and my son, my mother actually encourages this by saying I will never find anybody, according to her I need to stay with my sons father no matter what!! I see that you are so happy and you found someone that loves you and accepted you with your daughter. My question is, how did you know that your husband was the right choice not only for you but for your daughter? Did you always feel he accepted your daughter, and was his family as accepting??
You are very likable and easy to relate to on many levels. You are a great Mom and seem to have a very happy marriage! I like your honesty and your humor.
As far as Kim...I'm sure some of what is translated on the show is due to editing, but clearly all of it cannot be chalked up to this factor. It's clear you want to be a good sister and be supportive, however, it's also clear that you have some sort of very real anger towards Kim that is hurting the both of you. I'm sure it's much more complicated than we can ever know, but if you explore the anger - it will lose its power and you will have such an easier, less-charged relationship with Kim. Kim is a real sweetheart, as are you.
Kyle,
I remember watching you on 'Down to Earth' when I was a kid and thought you seemed like such a beautiful and nice young lady. Now watching you on RH, I see that you are still such, but have matured into a really gorgeous woman inside and out. I enjoy you very much on the show and it seems that you are a great mother, happy wife, and no nonsense lady. Keep it up! It is a pleasure watching you and your family. All Blessings :)
Portia is my favorite out of all the housewives......she is the best and most down to earth wife of the Beverly Hills clan. But I think the best housewive are the Alanta ladies, they are way more fun on that show! I can understand why Portia is a little tough on her sister, she's a little spacy at times, but Portia, you should lighten up on your sister sometimes.
I think you are being a bit silly and are going out of your way to act as if she said something ignorant. Your comments don't even make sense. Kylie was obviously saying although her husband was born in Mexico, he is not Hispanic. There is no offense to be taken by that.
And Mexico is hardly the multi-cultural mega you claim it to be, while immigration is possible it is very difficult because of stringent Mexican Immigration laws, there is under 1 million legal immigrants living in Mexico out of 111 million people- so it's more than reasonable to conclude that over 99% of Mexicans are Hispanic. Deal with it.

You are a great Mom and if I had your money I would do the same kind of parties for my kids. You have it all and still seem down to earth. Enjo;y those kids cuz in the blink of an eye they are grown.
