Brandi Glanville

A Wild Child

Brandi discusses the medication she took to fly and apologizes for her comments about Kim's boyfriend -- but not her swimsuit.

Jan 4, 2012

Wow, I'm pretty embarrassed by my actions in this episode to say the least. (I told you it gets worse before it gets better. Thanks for sticking with me!) Let me clarify, I have an extreme fear of flying. I have all my life. In fact, I have a prescription from my doctor for anti-anxiety medication that I use for long flights and smaller airplanes. It is the only occasion that I take them. While I did do a small toast for Mauricio’s birthday when we boarded, I avoid mixing my medication with alcohol, as its very unsafe. I now see how terrible this looks as it played out. Also, I did have a glass of wine once we had already landed and the medication had worn off.

While there have been many things being reported and written about me (especially of late), I would like to reiterate something to my fans: I have always been a free spirit and a bit of a wild child, but I am always the one in control. I am a mother of two lovely boys and that is my priority. That is why I only take anti-anxiety medication when flying; I hate the feeling that I am not in control of my own mind/body.

Brandi, I love that you are on the show. You are a free spirit and I think it's wonderful. I know you are a good mother so the rest is gravy. Happy New Year. Let's hope 2012 is your year. You deserve some happiness.

Best wishes for a 'happily ever after' romance with your lucky new husband.

It should of been you instead of Taylor right from the start. Bravo: Would love to view "Escapades of Brandi & Camille"a/la LaVerne & Shirley! Bethanny & that other one would have never matched up like these 2 gurls.

I just love reading your blogs. They totally crack me up each time. Brutally honest, owns her own issues and mistakes, throws it all out there and says what a normal person would. Such a refreshing change from the BH BS. Keep it up!!!

Way to be yourself, Brandi!!! Loving your personality more and more. Hugs, Mario from El Paso, TX

Brandi, You definitely grew on me. You do add the "fun" element to any party and Adrienne was right...you do seem very sweet (once we got past game night). Lots of glamorous women in the BH are skinny but you are fit and have not one speck of cellulite which is so rare. Please spill your secrets. Do you have a super healthy diet? Have you ever had cellulite?

Brani, you have a excuse for everything don't you.As for your remark about kims boyfriend that was just mean and rude.AS for Kim and Kyle mind your own bussnes, and wipe that smurk off your face every time Kyle is mean to her.I don't blame Kim why would she want to hang out when you all talk behind her back and laugh at her.

Glad you had fun in Hawaii and you looked awesome! Wouldn't waste my time apologizing to Kim for anything, she's just not worth it. Good to have you on the show!

Brandi, I have the biggest crush in you. You are so cute and sexy. Love your personality. Wish we could meet in person. Maybe one day!! im 29 and good looking (so I've heard) come to NYC. Cheers.

Love you on the show...who hasn't had the drunken moment we wish we could take back? I know I have.

Bradi, I have the biggest crush on you. you're so cute and sexy. Love your free spirit. Hope to run into you if you're ever in NYC. i watch the show because of you even though my friends make fun. Im 30 and can only hope to find a GF/wife like you some day. Cheers.

HEY BRANDI:

QUIT APOLOGIZING - YOU WERE HILARIOUS - I AM A MOTHER OF THREE BOYS AND WHEN I AM NOT WITH THEM - I CUT LOOSE AS WELL.... MAKES US BETTER MOMS, I THINK..... I DID NOT THINK YOU DRANK TO MUCH BUT I DO KNOW WHAT THAT MEDICATION DOES, AS I TAKE IT FOR FLYING AS WELL.. I THINK YOUR A GREAT ASSET TO THE SHOW... SURE HOPE YOUR ON NEXT SEASON - YOUR THE MOST REAL HOUSEWIFE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!! KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING GIRL... WE LOVE YOU......THANKS FOR BACKING DOWN TO KIM LAST EPISODE - IT IS JUST VERY VERY SAD...

JACKIE IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

I can see why you feel embarassed by the lastest episode, haha! Mixing booz with any kind of prescription is a no bueno. Looks like you had fun though. As far as your bikinis... where them girlfran! Like you said, as long as everything is holding up in it, why not? You have a tiny body with like 0% body fat (and that's WITH the supposedly 10lbs the camera puts on you), so flaunt your stuff!

Don't explain or apologize for anything. I still love you and think you're hysterical. It's getting very old that you're constantly the target of snarky comments. Grow up ladies. P.S. You rocked that bikini. You're right, you can wear what you want, when you want, and you look great. Don't listen to the negative comments and just stay true to yourself. Hope to see more of you.

you are a terrific addition to the housewives..bright, funny and a breathe of fresh air.

Brandi, you are simply adorable. Its also clear that you are also just a nice girl and I am so happy that you are on the show. You seem to be above the cattiness and pettiness. You and Lisa and Camille are the nice ones. Adrienne I am not so sure about anymore.

I haven't been all that crazy about ya. Not sure I would chose you as a friend. That said, I wish you and your family well in life.

Don't worry- it came across on the show about your fear of flying. I found you very funny and entertaining this episode. Nice to see minimal drama...

I think you are fantastic and IT'S VACATION!! I love how prude everyone acts when it comes to you. They gasp at a grown woman saying "c*ck" and oh how dare you say anything about Kim's boyfriend when Kyle has been ripping on him the whole time (eye roll) ?? Also, I assure you that you are not the first person to pop a xanax and have a drink when flying or because they've had a rough day. My only hope is all of those women see how transparent and petty they come off when they watch themselves.

Hi Brandi!

You've really grown on me this season and I'm glad the other ladies are finally starting to get you and you're sense of humor and just who you are. I can completely relate to the fear of flying problem and loved your comment about 'rophy-ing' yourself... if it wasn't I'm generally flying by myself and had to be functional (oh yeah... and that it's frowned upon).. I'd be all over that! All hail better flying through legal, prescribed pharmacueticals! :-)

Clearly you are the light hearted one in the bunch and a very welcomed addition to the franchise that is being dragged down into the mud by Taylor's neediness and Kim's inability to turn in a scene worth watching. Without you I would have stopped watching this show! AS much as you want to apologize for calling Kim's handler a dog faced boy - don't bother! Clearly she doesn't have a mature bone in her body or a functioning brain. So please spare us from watching her rant yet again like the village idiot.

While I appreciate your use it or lose it attitude about displaying your body, I felt Lisa's discomfort for showing it all so blatantly, as I took from her "joking" comments about your attire. The audio picked up a lot of children playing in the pool, you should be wearing this stuff at an adult resort. As you try to fit into this group of high powered Bev Hills babes, I've been waiting for some charm, wit, and class to seep through your model body pores, instead the "free spirit" schtick is making you look like a bimbo.

love you more and more. i think you're adorable!!

Brandi, You bring a fun, youthful element to the group. Your personality is quite different from the other women (a little more forward), but I think you will fit in fine (over time). You women seem to try your best to be classy and lively, and that can't be easy to do with America peeking in your front door.

Oh my gosh, my last comment (under your last post) was displayed but not in it's entirety. It ends as if I said Adrienne is pretentious. Not at all. Sorry, new sensitive laptop, annoying. What I tried to say was, I now see why you are great friends. Underneath the glamour, she's as real, likeable, and has that "rockstar" persona, and Iove that about her as well. She and Paul crack me up and he was definitely the voice of reason as you said. Camille has connected with you under such similar circumstances it seems, and I'm glad you know how to break the ice even at your own expense. Now, as far as the "KK" sisters, hopefully they have reviewed their past grade school behaviors and have turned a new leaf. I guess we'll all see in time. My motto is to be true to who you are, and stay away from the phonies and fakes. Life is short, love and laughter is required. Best to you.

This was the best episode this season!! The banter between you and Lisa was so comical and in such good fun....it was obvious she knew you weren't a threat to her relationship and she had no problem letting Ken have some fun being flirted with. Just terrific.

The absence of face-time drama from the two missing HWs was such a huge relief!!

brandi i must admit i didn't like you much, but you've really grown on me. I find you say exactly what we are all thinking but too afraid to say. I mean i relly cracked up when you said that thing about kims boyfriend. He kinda does look like one. anyway if that is the worse you got it's ok. all in good fun

Brandi...people have to realize how the fear of flying impacts some people. My husband, who will NEVER take any type of meds, must take an anti-anxiety med prior to flying, because I, as an RN saw him completely freak out on a plane and insisted he take something in the future. Don't be too hard on yourself...yes you had a cocktail with it, which completely exacerbates the effect of the med, so as as long as you don't regularly do this, it's all good lovey! You were rocking that bikini, as well as you should! Flaunt if you got it without any apologizes (jealousy, anyone). I loved the interaction between you, Lisa, and Ken, and it provided much needed laughter (especially after the intense episodes we, as viewers have had to endure - not to mention you ladies). Kyle should learn a lesson from Lisa and not get so high and mighty and all jealous when another woman goes near or says something to her husband. Tsk, tsk, Kyle. I certainly hope we'll be seeing you as a regular next season. You rock! As far as what people are writing about you, IGNORE the haters. Don't give them a 2nd thought and don't dignify them with an answer - they are not worth it. xo

Refreshing addition to the show! Love your honesty and all balls out attitude that this is who I am. You are just you.

Love you Brandi! Ken and Lisa really were good sports with the flirting, which made a fun show for us! Hope to see you on the housewives forever xxoo a few fans

You are certainly growing on me...

I adore you. Adrienne and Kyle? Not so much.

Never apologize! You are absolutely adorable!

Brandi, I love the fact that you don't pretend to be something you are not. I imagine you would be a blast to hang out with and a genuine friend. Don't change anything about yourself I would love to be so confident in my own skin.

Hilarious in this episode. Wouldn't apologize for the bikini either, if you look that great in them why not.

Brandi, instead of a bikini, you should have worn a court jester costume. Now I mean that as a compliment because you provide much needed comic fodder for this show, and Lisa plays off of you beautifully. Don't forget, Shakespeare's wisest character was the Fool. With your looks, I wish I could hate you, but I love ya.

No need to apologize! You are cool and very calm...It's fine! No need to try to fit in, you either do or you don't and what? be yourself at all times and that's it...Take Care!

Brandi, please stop apologizing for being who you are - the viewers LOVE you, you're so genuine and funny. I'm kinda hoping that Vegas wedding of yours is legal, he's HOT! Oh, right, this is about the housewives................lol.

Anyhow, thanks for bringing this show back to where it was when it started - pure entertainment and enjoyment.

Enough of Kim and Taylor. They need serious professional OFF CAMERA help. They have no business being on TV with their issues. Dana? Eh...she's like a lawn ornament, she's just "there". Kyle's not my favorite but she keeps things interesting. Camille needs to stop playing it so safe, she should loosen up and have more fun.

Adrienne I've lost all respect for after the Lisa/Vegas stunt she pulled. She seems to be all about peddling her products. Nothing real about her. Blech...

Love you Brandi!!!

I truly enjoy your free spiritness and carefree antics!!! I was totally appalled by the shoddy treatment you recieved from the Richards sisters, hats off to Kyle for trying to make amends, as for Kim there is NO excuse for the rude way she has acted since meeting you. I hope they keep you on the show you are a breath of fresh air!!

Brandi, You are such fun TV! I was Glad to read in your blog that you were not really drinking along with medication hope Dana corrects her blog on that- Seems Ken had your back when he noticed you were only sipping your drink. Finally someone has your back! What a relief Kim was not there for the front part of the trip so you could actually have a decent time without her barking in your face. I know you can deal with it but its enough already. Keep being you. So refreshing having you on the show and you rocked that Bikini girl!

Bonnie

You looked fabulous in your suit, if I could wear it I would. As far as the anxiety meds, hey, more power to you, I won't fly period I'm so afraid of it. My doctor has offered me the drugs, but I'm afraid I won't be in control and act out while taking them. I guess I'm filled with phobias, so best to stay on the ground. I hope they make you a regular housewife next season, I'm really enjoying you.

Stop apologizing to Kim..she doesn't appreaciate it anyways. The women are all bad mouthing you because they wish they looked more like you. I think you're awesome! Be yourself!! Much love from Ohio

Brandi, you have been such an awesome addition to the RHOBH cast. You are who you are and make no apologies for it. Hope to see more of you in season 3!

don't worry about it kitty kat. i thought you did a great job; these people are way to hard on you and i myself am tired of it. i think you're one of the most sincerest one there. i've changed my mind about a lot of the wives as time goes on, so you're #1 in my book!

First off Brandi...please don't feel you have to explain away as to why you were taking the medication that you had stated in your post. Flying or not, I don't want you to make people feel ashamed that, for whatever reason, it's a bad thing. It is prescribed for many reasons, and you don't want to sound as if your using "flying" as the only reason. I honestly mean that in a nice way. You've been through a terrible divorce, myself as well, and it is what it is. I have two sons and we have a wonderful relationship. I used to suffer with major panic attacks prior to my youngest son's birth. For obvious reasons, I stopped taking them. After his birth, I saw Kim Basinger give an interview how she fought off the attacks. I never had therapy, (just the tools through her wonderful story) it was either the "panickers" or her and she fought it off. I did the exact same thing. The next time my heart raced, etc...knowing I wasn't going to die, I finally got rid of my "crutches"....(no pun intended). Millions of Americans suffer from anxiety in various forms. I wasn't aware, as you stated, that you had such negative feedback, and felt the need to defend yourself. In the most respectful way possible though, please don't feel you have to explain it's just for "flying". You seem to be the most "real" and non phony of them all so don't sell yourself short. I'm sure when you were going through your divorce, fights with the ladies, and so on, it's ok to take what you need, as long as your children are safe, right? Stay true to who you are, the hell to those who misjudge you.

on the show and I don't want people to think

You know, I really didn't want to like you, but I am learning (albeit through television reality ;-) that you are kinda a crack up and next time you come to the islands, look me up...I will party with you anytime ;-)

Brandi - No need to feel embarrassed. Just do not mix med and alcohol anymore. How many of us cut loose on vacation when our kids aren't around? I do, I do! I can tell that your boys are your world! You are a gorgeous, and funny lady. I think Lisa and Ken were actually entertained by you! Take you out of this episode and it would have been pretty boring. I like your and Camilles friendship too. It's a good thing Giggy didn't go. He looked so darn cute in his hawaiin shirt you wouldn't have been able to contain yourself! :) Rock on!

Brandi honey: Let any embarrassment go! Even with xanax on board, you really did nothing to be ashamed of. It is a pity that the prescription drugs are not working out as well for other members of the cast, but's that another story. You looked fabulous in the bikini (as did Camille I must add!), and I agree, enjoy it while you got it honey! As for the comparison of the boyfriend to a bull mastiff, which you now want to apologize for...can you find a bull mastiff nearby to apologize to? They would be the only ones deserving of an apology. Once again, you were blurting out the truth as you saw it, and by the faces of the other women (when you said it), they agreed with ya, though Beverly Hills etiquette would never allow that to be verbalized I am sure. Keep at it Brandi...you are adding a much needed and fun spirit to this show, and we thank you for it!

Don't apologize or let the haters get you down; you're the realest of them all! As for Vegas, well, you know that old saying? But at least you had fun! And your BFF is GORGEOUS! Screw the annulment...go for it!
