Lea Black

Sweet Charity

Lea discusses Adriana and Fredric, and says what she will about the gala.

Mar 22, 2011

Marysol's wedding was stunning. What a beautiful blushing bride. I wish we all could have been there supporting her but I completely respect their wanting to make that moment only about them, as weddings can be stressful enough. Marysol, I wish you both a life filled with success, happiness, laughter, and lots of good sex!

Poor Alexia -- a car wreck! Glad you're OK. Sorry you missed the Gabriella Arango fashion show, but Cristy stepped up and modeled as "Barbie" and her sister and did a great job.

Now, about the lunch at Martorano's -- it was an hour drive for me so I was a bit lost and late. The food was delicious. And what about all those tattoos? Not only was that lunch interesting for many reasons, but it led me to someone who really needed help, and my husband and I are doing everything in our power to help him. Stay tuned for (hopefully) a miracle in the making! (Editor's note: we've got the scoop on the situation here.)

Adriana has never asked me to set her up with any man, rich or otherwise. I have never offered or suggested to set her up with any man! Like she needs me to fix her up? Now that's funny! Not too many months after I met her, she started dating Frederic, whom I loved from the first time I met him at Fisher Island during lunch. So the Adriana "uses or kisses up to Lea" so I will "introduce her to men with money" comment -- where did that come from? Another self-reflection?

Your amazing, I'm really digging you on the show and I agree that Cristy is in the wrong and constantly talking behind everyone's back, hopefully she changes her tune soon!! Cant wait till next week.

Just watched the show. I think it gets better every week. I did not like what Cristy said about your charity work. If only there were more people like you, we would have less crime and homelessnes. I thought what you said to the young girls was very refreshing. I am sure they thought about it later. They seemed embarrassed and uncomfortable, parobably because of their problems.

Lea, I was in shock when christy said she feels bad for you for going on about charities. Poor girl is delusional. Keep up the good work and don't let the haters bring you down!

The show was really good tonite. You are still my favorite. I guess it is because you seem so genuine. I guess you truly have southern hospitality.

I love you Lea...

Inspirational & Great sense of Humor...

I love the show and your committed to make a difference in the quality of people's lives.

Your doing great work and those other two 'mean girls' are sad.

U acted like U had no problem with Christy at the table but did not hesitate to call Andy Cohen and call her a $1000 hooker on T.V. Regardless of what U thought about the charity that night, U should have picked up the phone and talked to Christy in person instead of sending her a certified letter. U claim U don't have time for drama but what did U think that was stir up!? U were also talking to anyone with an ear about Christy so stop acting so superior. Not a nice way to treat a friend!

Christy is wrong. She is stubborn in her thinking the charity was about her.Charity is about helping others.I love the work you do,and I wish there were more people like you that care to uplift people. Stay strong.

Lea,

Love ya girl!!! You are a true character! I think your relationship with Adriana is endearing! Christy and Larsa are one-dimensional, BORING, mean-spirited, and emotionally stuck in high school. They need to go!

You I like because you tell the person to their face what you say behind their back. You are grounded. You open your heart to your friends. You are doing a good job with your charity. Good for you.

It's crystal clear all the good work you do for charities and to help so many other people. You are a fairy god-mother and a fun-loving, kind woman with a big, wonderful personality. Maybe you shouldn't have called the after show, but we all make mistakes, and can't always rise above the frustrations of others' misbehavior. I tune into the show to see what you are doing . . . so "Just keep doing your thing, LEA!"

What made you think Cristy was Lea's friend. Had she been her friend she would have reponded to Lea before crashing the party. The gala was to make $ for the charity, not for Cristy, she has money.

Love you, Lea! Your rare combination of style AND substance is what makes you so interesting to watch. I hope to see more of you on next week's episode.

Lea, you are the MOST giving person. Why does this show twist everything around and try to make fun of your giving nature. I think you are amazing and wish there were only more people like you in this world!

lea, why are they twisting up the plot and only showing the negative side of your endless giving ? If only more people were as giving of themselves as you are this world would be a much better place.

Keep up the good work. You are a unique person, always helping others.. No bathtub scenes for you.

I disagree with your politics, but find you admirable. You are passionate about helping people in need and doing the right thing. This world needs more Leas. You say what you mean, mean what you say and DO something about it. Marsa and Cristy are lacking intelligence and character. This world has too many of those types of Losers.

I think was happened at the luncheon was horrible. You and (or you let) Adriana ruin everyone's good time, that was not the time or place. You talk bad about Cristy, a lot, who are you? She paid you, drop it! You are being horrible. You are not as nice as you pretend to be. I thought Cristy handled you with class. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! ...and you used to be my favorite!

Lea -

I am not all that into Cristy but she did have a point. You should have just called her and had a heart to heart. She would have paid you because she paid you after you sent a certified letter. Isn't it better to talk things out one on one and move on? Adriana bringing up the past like that when Cristy had already paid was just childish. And you enjoyed watching and listening. Isn't that a little overdone and immature considering she paid you? It should have been a dead issue by the time that lunch happened. Don't you and Adriana have better things to do than marinate on a problem that has been resolved and ruin a lunch over it? Just sayin'.

Love you, Lea! You are a rare combination of style AND substance which is what makes you so interesting to watch. Hope to see more of you next week.

Bravo has a habit of filming the housewives AD NAUSEUM while doing hair and makeup in preparation for an event. Why wasn't Christy shown getting ready for the gala with her friend(s)...

And where is the footage of her alleged Bentley flat tire? My contention is that she deliberatley crashed that gala and made up the story about the flat so she wouldn't have to be there for registration/red carpet...sneaky.

It was delicious watching Chrity's reaction. She was like a deer caught in headlights. She is way wrong and to pay only $1000 when it was seen that she actually brought 2 people to the gala shows how tacky she is. Her comments regarding Adriana to Larsa were way out of line and watch out for Larsa as well. Now I do see how some of your comments that are intended as a joke come across as hurtful but overall you are my fave HW of Miami and please keep being you.

You are fabulous! From your fashion, to your charities and friendships, you are a breath of fresh air!

You will long be remembered when these pretty little one dimensional women (Larsa and Christy) will be forgotten as soon as the show is over!

I do a lot of charity work on behalf of childhood cancer and heart babies, as I have a heart baby. You can never give back too much!

Lea' get out of the way and pull Adrianna back too. I don't want you two to get any dirt on yourselves as Christy digs her own hole deeper... and deeper... Can't wait for the Reunion Show!

I think that both of you handled that whole charity situation in the worse way possible. You both had an opportunity to show class, and instead you both reverted to cattiness. You could have just called her and explained that everyone pays for a ticket. However, Cristy also had the opportunity to respond to your letter (which was ridiculous to send certified with a photograph) with an apology for the misunderstanding, and an explanation (because I do see her point that she didn't eat, she didn't sit, and just stopped by last minute to show her support.) She ruined it with her defensive attitude and then running her mouth. However, you took it a step further with your call to What Happens Live. If the whole point, as you keep saying, was for your charity, then you wouldn't have been so catty with the manner in which you sent the letter, and the insulting phrase you used during your call. It's sad to see such beautiful, successful women act like mean girls in high school. I would hope that at your ages, you would have moved past that phase.

Lea

Why did Cristy lie about bringing only 1 friend? Thought i saw 2 with her

You actually have a personality! Love that you think of others and have a sense of purpose in the world! Thank you for being the dimension viewers want to see in the "Real Housewives..." Stay focus and true, people love that about you!!!

Your charity work is admirable--your decision to give those admirable young women that appalling motivational speech taken from "The Secret" was not. Think about the implications of delivering a "your thoughts shape reality!" speech to victims of neglect, abuse, abandonment. Did their inability to "shape reality" contribute to their difficult life? Of course not. There's a big difference between "positive thinking can make your skin nicer" (which is dubious but harmless) to your totally insensitive new-age blather. You are taking your own economic privilege seriously, and you care about giving back--change is achieved through concrete action and through sustaining social conditions and policies that help people make their own lives better.

I think your intentions are very good and love that you do so much charity work - but you really need to do a better job of knowing your audience before taking on any public speaking engagements. As a former high school teacher, I want you to be aware that you did so much wrong while speaking AT (not with) those girls. You didn't engage them at all and certainly weren't reading their body language.

Lea, if Christy was telling the truth about her last minute decision to come, and based on the fact that is she glued to her cell phone AND the camera, then she would have had you on speaker phone bragging about her change in plans and that she WAS going to grace your charity function with her celebrity presence. She didn't. Oh and she did seem to appear with TWO guests not one as she said. Her lies seem to be getting mixed up already. And what is with her comment about "born and raised in Miami" comment? That counts for what? A free pass to Miami royalty? She is all about the camera and deflecting her bad behavior in my opinion. Loved how you handled the situation though, you remind me of me so I got how you handled it. But I still cringe about your Green Card comment! Hope we don't hear about that anymore lol

Lea,

There is no comparison between you and most of the other girls on the show. You are down to earth, giving and "real"! That's right a "Real Housewife of Miami"! All that drama would make me insane to say the least. Stay strong and keep up the good work!!!

Sandy

Bless your heart. You are like the energizer bunny! How can you do all you do and look so darn good......it isn't fair, just isn't fair.....Ha! You're a doll baby, Lea.

Lea Black you are and AMAZING woman! You should run for mayor for sure!! We all love you! Go for it!! Can't wait for the next show!!

Oh my how you do make this show!! Without you it wouldn't be near as exciting! We love it and are addicted! Telling it like it is -- is what we love about you!! Love-love-love-you!!

Mr. Blackwell might not approve of you, but you have a heart of gold. :)

Lea, I found you very classy when you didn't call Christy out on her comments at lunch. She was making herself such a victim and seeminly gracious for not complaining that she didn't have seat at the gala. Of course she didn't have seats, she didn't pay! Don't sneak into a sold out play, then complain about not having a spot to sit. I thought it was kind of you to not ruminate over the issue more by mentioning that...I probably would have!

As always you ROCK! Hope you get your own show someday!!

Love you on the show. You seem like a very kind hearted, well intentioned woman. Some of the other women on that show are just toxic. It is so sad to see grown women acting that way. Larsa and Christy should take a lesson in tact and elegance from you! Rock on Lea. You rock!

You would not raise very much money for your charity, if you let everyone get away with, showing up and not eating and only drinking. I think Lea handled it very well. She did not approach her that night, just sent invoice and should have sent certified to be sure she got it, otherwise she probably would have said she didn't.

I want to like you (not that you care). I really want you to know that just because you "think" something that you don't necessarily need to "say" it. The comment about "the green card" was horrible the first time and terribly unnecessary. You don't have to put other people down for other people to see that you are a good person. We all know that Cristy is wrong. We all know that she lacks class. Let's see what you can do without the snide comments and nastiness. Can't wait.

I like you Lea, you are caring quick-witted and a have a strange sense of humor. I didn't like you at Alexia's dinner party(for the comments). But all-in-all you are a class act.

Lea... You are absolutely the best and sexiest on the show! Love the fact that you're focused on charity and trying to make an impact for others. It's that what it's really about? Keep doing what you're doing....stay positive and true to yourself. Love you and think you're great!

You say it like it is and I love it...Would be nice to see some of the other housewives be interested in somethng other than themselves.

Lea, you are the best, look fabulous and Root for the good people like you.

I admire the way you are always willing to lend a helping hand and looking outside of yourself to make a difference. I don't think some of the housewives have a clue as to what it means to serve your community.

In my last comment, I failed to mention a part of last night's show that I especially liked. I have been to Aspen in both the summer and winter, on family vacations (no, we aren't rich--camping trips!) and it is such a beautiful place that I was pleased to see that Marysol chose it as the place for her wedding. I thought it was endearing that she didn't make a big show of it, but made it personal and quaint just for her, her husband-to-be, and the preacher. That's another reason that I like the Miami Housewives show.

Krammer...Clearly you don't have a clue. How much do you give back to the community?...How do you know Lea' is not nice? Bet you would crash a charity event too...

Lea'...you are the only one on that show that give a rats a** about anyone other than themselves.

Lea, I like you just the way you are. More people should have your heart and it would be a better world.
