After watching the first episode of the new and improved Real Housewives of Miami, I just had to wonder -- are we all that different really? Do we all view the world that differently, or is it just more comfortable to talk in clichés? Are we more used to criticizing than complimenting? Are we in the habit of looking for what's wrong or looking for what's right in the world we live in?
Well from the World of Lea Black, here's how I see it.
Miami was showcased in all of its grandeur -- the sexiest city on earth and magnificent beyond description -- or was that just the visual I saw? So while listening to some of the girls describe it as "full of jealous people" (sometimes true), "people will walk all over you" (stilettos and all) ,"the rich are always trying to undo you" ( I guess when they're not counting their money or polishing their diamonds,) "it’s smoke and mirrors" (hidden amongst the white beaches, the blue skies, and the skyline of over-the-top architectural buildings), and, of course, "everyone’s a recovering alcoholic" (or chilled out on Xanax -- Xanax is the new booze). And is that the "old Miami" that should just shrivel up and cry, or "move over?" After all, the old Miami is now the new Miami, I hear. It just made me think maybe I do live in a state of non-reality reality. Oh never mind, that would be a Housewives show? Obviously we will all disagree on everything all of time -- so when in doubt, just believe me. As you know by now, I can deal with a lot, but "I can’t deal with stupid."
Finally season two started! I loved it and thought you were great! Those women don't know what they are up against. You ROCK! Love ya!!
So glad your back! Your fabulous and the new girls look like they are going to bring lots of drama, so excited.
Love the show! And of course your are so funny, glamorous and honest - luv it! Cannot wait to see what drama is coming up :)
Loved the show and so happy your back!!! Loved the property you purchased!!! Great realtor!!! Can't wait to see what the ready of the season has in store for us!!!
Lea, why is your blog so cryptic? I read it twice and I am still not sure of what you were trying to say. Also, you look AMAZING this season and I think you look especially great when you wear your hair up. Do it more often!!!
Hello, Lea, I'm glad the show is back. I'm looking forward to a new bounch of ladies. I enjoyed you on the first season. I'm so tired of New York already, time to see what Miami has to offer. Good Luck to You........
I think that HulaHoneyBecky stated your position in the show very well about the "children' on the show trying to one-up each other. Gini's comments I liked also. You are the really classy lady on the show! The new look, hair, etc., I know is all natural and very beautiful. Looking forward to this Thursday night.
Lea I love the show now that mama Elsa is in the housse and the new housewives frankly I was bored with the last season. Can't wait for the next episodes
Hugs , so glad to see you back...Bravo needs to give you a column to write, Miami too...love your take on things. I love even better how you write it, at first I seen 7 pages and thought oh NO...but I got pulled in, great recap and perspective...I love light and humor.
Lea, looks like your in for a very interesting season. You are my favorite housewife, because you bring stability and sense to this crazy group. My favorite line..."Tear it Down!" I know you will build a great house on Star! And I have to agree, your skin does look amazing. Do you have a skincare line? Can you tell us how to get it?
Good luck to the real Mayor of Miami!!
I really like you, Lea. I felt that there were so many in the cast of characters in that it is difficult to sort them all out. Your snopsis of the first epidsode help a bit. I am looking forward to learning more about this group!
As always you are the one with the most substance and of course personality.
I wish you all the luck this season. The new cast seems to be very competitive and its going to
be interesting to watch. You looked great and I know is natural!!!!
This season perfection darling you rock!!! Season two like a good "SOUTH BEACH MARTINI" look beautiful, perfect balanced, you want more,more......and more Waiting anxiously for next thursday :))
I feel sure that Bravo requested the take she had on the show and approved her blog. I feel in the future it will be less. Just recapping the premiere. Also, when I read something I think is too long...I just quit reading. Personally, I enjoyed all of it. I am a Lea fan and can't get enough of her comments. I think she is very funny and down to earth. By the way she also looks beautiful.
I think you are going to be the anchor to all these " children" running around trying to "one up" on each other. You don't need to prove yourself to Anyone!
Love your look at the "Food Fest Scene".. Very classy and tasteful..also was that a Judith Leiber bag you had with you?
Rebecca in California
I don't think Lisa was being sensitive. I think she was being reasonable in being put off by you blowing off her compliment. A simple "Thank you" takes a few seconds and then you could've had all the time in the world to talk to Mama Elsa. It's called manners. No reason not to have them.
Lea you reigned over last years programming of RHOM at calling out some of the gals on the show.....loved your "Green Card" remark....by the way - what happened to that French husband of Marysol's anyway? - Looking forward to another season of antics and fun.....you rock the show with down to earth remarks, beauty and a great sense of humor about it all. Kudos to you for being The Lady of RHOM
Lea, I am looking forward to Season 2, especially to see you, my favorite housewife. You look beautiful--loved your makeup, hair, clothes, especially that emerald green top. You really need to share the name of your skincare line, as it is wonderful! I think that the lady below who asked was sincere in wanting to know! I hope that everyone will realize that you are not just another pretty face, but a loving, caring human being as the season progresses. Looking forward to next week!
I loved your face when you are bragging to Audrianna and about your new house on Star Island and letting her know she could park her boat on your dock and come inside a real house if she wanted, as you are the ever gracious host, and then she smacks you with "yea, my friend just bought a house there too." And then finding out that her friend bought the house you wanted and doesn't have to work outside the home, was just the icing that was needed on the cake to see your true colors.
I loved it because you were truly awful calling her your new "neighbor" with quotation marks why? She bought the house near you ...to me that is a neighbor....no need for quotation marks.
Also, I like how you complimented everyone multiple times on this blog EXCEPT Lisa.....stop being so jealous.
Someone told me you have a skin care line and that is the reason your skin looks so good. Please let us know what the name of it is and how we can purchase. Thanks
Lea, your skin looks so beutiful please share your secret. What type of cosmetics, etc. ThanksSomeon
Lea - thank God for you! Again you seem to be the only one with a head on her shoulders! I am so excited to see more of you this season! What are your house plans??? Will we see the new house.
Lea, I heard Andy's comments regarding so many people writing in to say you look "refreshed." I think you look fantastic! It appears to me that you have dropped some weight, shortened and lightened your hair and your makeup, and improved your wardrobe choices which has shaved years off your looks. Congrats and keep up the great work!
Wow..finally came across a comment which has the truth....thankyou - spot on & clever... well done!!!....Why oh why is Lea back???...Elsa is brillant & think will satisfy the percentile for that age bracket.
