Hello again, another week has come and gone. I feel like I wrote last week’s blog an hour ago; time is surely flying.
I really don't have much to say about this week’s episode. To me it just rehashed the same issues that we've all been dealing with for the past couple of years. If anything, I think it shoes how deep the hurt is between Teresa and Joe.
The scene in the gym was very telling and sad to watch. Unfortunately there is more of that to come, but I think that this is what they need. Get it all out in the open and build from there. There is no denying that these two love each other very much. Keep watching, they may surprise you.
Joe isn't the brightest bulb on the whole network, let alone the show. He's an easy target, yes an easy target for you to plant all kinds of ideas in his head. That is cruel, if he were an animal, PETA would be all over you for psychological abuse. You're not only practicing without a license you're practicing without a clue.
You talk to Joe one on one (he thinks you have a cougar thing for him), then you talk to Teresa one on one......then you tell everyone and anyone who wants to listen what was said, while both Joe and Teresa believe to themselves that your conversations with each were confidential.I think that it is easier for you to play 'Let's Fix Those Around Me' then it is for you to face the obvious that you've been avoiding.......now that you and your husband are empty nesters, you're starting to realize that you two have very little in common at all and the reason that you've been together so long, is that you never saw each other.Take care of the plank in your own eye before you go after the sliver in anyone else's...
- Luke 6:42
ted what you did so much, it would literally take me a book to say how I felt.
t. You try to help teresa and her brother again, but know when it's time to leave it between them. This will probably be the best season since mid three.
Caroline, I think that it's sad what you and your husband have taught your children. Basically, you said "Family is the most important thing." However, what you did was something completely different. What you taught them is "Money is the most important thing in the world; more important than family or your loved ones." And, I was completely disgusted with your son's comments about how he doesn't want a girl because then he has to worry about her being a whore. WOW!!! My stomach turned! What about worrying that his son would be a male slut? What about worrying that his son would grow up and be like his grandfather; someone that puts money before his family.
Values are taught more by what you do, than what you say. Your sons are right. Women are not going to tolerate that, these days, nor should they. Sad!
Love loved LOVED seeing your hubby and kids this week. So glad to know all is going well for them all. I wish the boys the best of luck in their new venture and so happy for Lauren for her success in her personal life as well as her business. Bravo to you all.
I really like how you evaluated yourself (from last season) and made some changes for the positive. That's what we all should be doing!
murphy1 Really? Is that why Melissa went to the birthday party and Teresa attacked her about the hospital. Truth is that Melissa shouldn't have gone to the hospital, at all, with a sore throat. But, Teresa had to give her a heard time. Then at the gym, when Joe called her on how she won't leave Melissa alone and how Gia even talks badly about her Aunt, Teresa's response was "Everyone knows that Melissa lipsinks, which isn't true anyway. Instead of apologizing for her horrible behavior and how they talk badly about Melissa in front of the children, she says "everyone knows..." If you think that Teresa is trying, then I have some ocean-front property in Illinois to sell you. If you'll buy Teresa's BS, then you'll buy ANYTHING!
murphy1 And, by the way, was is Teresa or Melissa that was trying at the birthday party, when Teresa attacked Melissa for not running to the hospital with a sore throat. That was completely uncalled for and just one more example of Teresa's attitude toward Melissa. If she wants to make it work, then why the endless bad behavior and bashing on Melissa. Then, she's all upset that Melissa made a comment about not renting the purse because she's not the one who filed for bankrupsy. Melissa was reacting to being bashed by Tre all the time. And, when Joe calls her on the things that her girls say about Melissa, she says "everyone knows." We all know how much they talk badly about Melissa to the girls.
BRAVO BRAVO CAROLINE! I love what you said at Victoria and Rich's birthday. Actually, what you didn't say by shaking your head was EVEN more powerful. STANDING OVATION FROM BRISBANE AUSTRALIA!! xxx
Caroline you not acknowledging Jacqueline's crazy behavior for the past two seasons is frustrating!! aren't you supposed to be the matriarch of the family?! When you told Jacqueline Teresa wanted an apology, you both started laughing?! wtf? are you serious? What you really should have said to Jacqueline was you crossed the line with Teresa! I don't care why you were mad at her, you had no business going after her and her family the way you did!! That would be keeping it one hundred percent real...... Thats why we all love Lisa Vanderpump! She keeps it real.. good bad or indifferent, friend or no friend!!!
OMG! Jacqueline is fighting for the quality of her son's life. I personally amazed that she is able to function at all under the circumstances. She laughed at the notion of apologizing to Teresa because of the absurdity of it. She doesn't owe Teresa an apology, period. What show have you been watching? The only person who is ever in attack mode is Teresa and everyone else is simply reacting to what she has said or done and I for one would sure like to see everyone wise up and not let Teresa have such power over them.
piperbeau Are you kidding me? Why wouldn't they laugh when Teresa said that she wanted an apology. That's ridiculous! Teresa is a delusional nut case and Jacqueline is 10 times the human being that she is. There's no comparison. Basically you are saying that Teresa is allowed to behave horribly for years, but Jac is not allowed anything but perfect behavior. She's going through a bad time and is allowed to be out of whack. And, by the way, Jac made it clear that Teresa was not supportive at all when she found out about her son. Teresa acted like nothing was going on and made no mention of the problems that Jac was suppering through during their daily phone conversations. I've had a friend like that. Jac is allowed to vent! She deserves to vent! And, only someone without a heart would say a word about it. She's proven herself to be a good woman.
I think you have a few fans left, Caroline...but not many as most of America has wised up to your shenanigans. You can't BS indefinitely and this whole let me save the world (except clean up my own crap) façade is no longer working...and hasn't for about 3 seasons. Maybe you find something you really enjoy and stop trying to defy gravity.
First off, are we being punked or is the REAL Carolyn Manzo back? I enjoyed watching you put you and Tre's differences aside to talk to her, yet I feel like it didn't help in the long run as long as Melissa is around. I think that with time Tre and Joey will work out their problems and no matter who talks to either one of them as a concerned friend, they can only solve it themselves. Kudos to you for trying..just keep your back protected with Melissa..I think she is one vile little girl, and will stop at nothing to be numero uno. She loves drama, and her little stunt at Kathy's hubby's and daughter's b-day party just proved it. She should have kept her mouth shut, and stopped the drama from happening, but she had to have the attention and she had to bad mouth Tre to make herself feel good..I know she knew the reaction she would get from Kathy's family, I don't think she was counting on your reaction just by the look on her face and her rolling her eyes.. She wants everyone to turn against Tre, and be her friend and her friend only..With friends like her, who needs enemies? She reminds me of the mean girls in high school..Take care and watch your back...so very glad to see the old you back..
I have always liked you and even when you were at your worst, I have always had a place for you in my heart. I would love to see you reconcile with your family and especially Teresa. I am sure you don't want to hear that but you really were so much happier when you all got along. Hopefully you can find your inner peace once again. I want to see the old Carolyn...please !!!
You don't fool anyone with this peace maker game that you are playing. If it had one ounce of sincerity, you wouldn't be talking about Teresa behind her back especially in the derogatory way that you do. You are coming across as a kid in junior high who enjoys stirring the pot--not attractive for a middle aged woman!
try staying out of it , let them work their own issues out , they might actually get it. but they will never know as long as u keep butting in!!
On this episode, it seemed like you were in a scene from the movie "The Godfather," delivering the words of Teresa the almighty on who'd be in favor this week! It was hysterical!
The truth of the Gorga/Guidice family issues begins with Joe & Theresa's father. He is currently (television time) not speaking to several of his family members such as Kathy Wakile, her sister Rosie and their Mom. If I'm not mistaken the father also wasn't speaking to his son, Joe, a short time ago as well. Anyone that has struggles and problems with so many family members over his lifetime clearly has emotional deficiencies. His emotional disorders/deficiencies have spread like an infection through his entire family. The father has lead by poor example. He doesn't talk to his sister and now his own children aren't speaking to one another. As a result neither Joe or Theresa are equipped with the necessary emotional tools and lack the vocabulary to express themselves to resolve the issues. It's all due to Joe and Theresa only seeing and subsequently learning how to hate, never take ownership of bad behavior and holding grudges from the FAILURE of their father, mother and aunt to be ABLE TO RESOLVE their differences in a loving, rational and educated manner. This will be the legacies of these families. Although I may agree with the way Joe Gorga and Kathy Wakile try to handle their families problems I feel they are infected as well by this man's failures to his family. Unfortunately it's impossible for them not be affected. He is, after all, the patriarch of their families. His emotional disorders are spreading to his grandchildren now . He should be ashamed of himself. This is his legacy. I apologize if I crossed any boundaries here however someone needs to tell what remains of these families what the cause of their pain is so THEY KNOW where to BEGIN with their HEALING process. They should also be aware of the many people who watch their show that don't t have families, who see NJHW as their extended family, people who would move heaven and earth to have their own family if they could and don't. They should spend one day in the life of someone who doesn't have a family or anyone to come home to, or to call when they've had a bad day, to celebrate accomplishments with, share their similarities and just have someone to love that loves them back. If they could spend one day in that life they would never look back. They are lucky however it's a GREAT SKILL TO KNOW HOW TO GUIDE YOUR LUCK. My advice is to ask for help from professionals as a group, not just Joe and Theresa but include Kathy too. Including Kathy will demonstrate their commitment to the truth and changing their legacy. Also please note I mean no disrespect to their father and uncle. I'm certain that all of the elders of these families (father, mother & aunt) would agree that a large part of their children's inability to resolve these differences is a direct result of what they learned from them. I am optimistic that these adults would do anything in their power to prevent their children from making the same mistakes they did.
Michele in NJ (I'm the one without a family who would move heaven and earth to have one. Please take my advice.)
Teresa called her brother a coward last week--should she they never speak again?
halfshellie I think you said it so well and made a lot of sense. I think it may be too late for their father to change his ways, but not for them. But then again, I'm just not sure they have what it takes to be able to do this. I think it's rather silly and ridiculous how they father handles things within his family, especially at his age!
@halfshellie I sympathize with you. I am surprised you didn't mention Caroline not speaking with her family members.
Caroline I know you have the best of intentions but you need to realise that Teresa will never change her jealous, toxic behaviour towards Melissa therefore her relationship will never heal with her brother. Don't waste your time
I cannot understand how its ok for you to interfere with other family disputes but no one is allowed to bring up your family??? is it becasue you have no control in your own family that you must try to control others ??
Honestly Caroline, I think you were just trying to sell some books. You didn't like the way you were portrayed last season and you were doing some damage control. I can see right thru you. I am not really a Teresa fan but I think she deserves a lot of credit for sitting down with you after the way you treated her last season. You need to pay attention to the issues in your own family. Your advice is not always that good. You speak in parables as if anything that comes out of your mouth is a valuable life lesson.
I am certain that the viewers would like to know how YOUR relationship is with YOUR siblings, i.e., Dina. Clean your house first before butting into other people's family issues.
mia666 You are really right o target about Caroline. She is such a phony. I really can't stand her and I'm surprised she is back on the show. She seems to be jealous of everyone else, but thinks her family is beyond reproach. Hope she leaves the show for good.
How come you never comment on how ridiculous Rosie acts? Or any of the others for that matter? I think the most frustrating thing to watch is the double standard here. Everyone can say bad things about Teresa and say it in front of their kids and lose their tempers but if Teresa so much as tries to talk to anyone she gets shut down. The Gorgas came on this show with an agenda. Remember the first episode they were on when he called Teresa Garbage and got in a fight at his sons Christining. Now thats a disgrace. Why? Why would you ever on national tv? And now Melissa wants to air all her family problems. She'll do anything
ALarsen@springpatch So glad you said This. If just once, Caroline could say "Yes Teresa, that was wrong of Kathy to call your mother and father liars and cowards," she'd have credibility. Without that, Teresa is not going to hear her. Even today, she could have said that she watched the episode and couldn't believe how Joey spoke to Teresa in public, he himself admitting that he was playing tit for tat. Caroline, go scratch.
Bull you are a peacemaker--you know you have no relevance without Teresa-god I wish you'd go away. Every year there's rumors, then you always come back. You're just a pot stirrer because you're miserable and you want attention. It must kill you that you need Teresa to get it.
Caroline - last season I was on your side because it was your battle - but this season what are you doing making yourself the moderator between Teresa and Joe AND being the messenger to Kathy and Melissa, telling them what Teresa thinks of them? Sorry but you are a butt-in and not a moderator. Worse, now you're saying "maybe I don't know Melissa"??? Huh - I'm so confused whose side you're on.
Maybe she doesn't know Melissa as well as she thought she did. Melissa is a really big trouble maker ..Like a wolf in sheep's clothes.
It doesn't really seem like your getting in the middle of things helped anything, Caroline. Maybe there is a lesson in that for you?
Loved that you made an effort to try to heal these two, it shows that deep down you truly do care. And, sometimes, it is needed. When a family has gone a year without speaking, it shows there is a serious issue. It's uncomfortable to bring these issues all to the top. Joe is too proud to make the first move and after being told by her bother, "you're dead to me", it was unlikely that Teresa would make the first move. Giving her hope made the difference. Sure, they are going to fight with each other because deep down they haven't resolved their issues and are each angry with the other. However, in the long run, if peace ensues, then, it will have all been worth it. Kudos!
When you were going through your long spell of not liking/talking to Teresa, no one intervened and tried to get you two together and play nice. Now that you're ready, you expect the rest of the group to be on your schedule and just forget and forgive and I think it's wrong. Especially since you were the most out spoken and angry at her. Leave Melissa alone. She shouldn't have to explain/justify anything to you. I'm sure she knows what she's doing. Teresa needs to get in touch with reality. Her own husand treats her like crap right to her face and she just smiles and laughs and pretends he doesn't mean it. Kim G. keeps her stirred up all the time and now here you come with your holier than thou words of wisdom. Enough already. Save it for your radio show.
I used to like you a lot but since last season you have changed... you're getting more involve with Teresa's family feud and it really frustrating to watch...Last season you portrayed yourself to be the mean girl , vicious and so vile.. this year your role changed for the worst... a pot stirrer. For Christ sake, pls concentrate on your own family affairs...You're making it worst and unbearable for us viewers...
Unfortunately, Caroline just doesn't see it that way. She truly, truly believes she is the "messenger" who can mend & heal this dysfunctional family. And according to her, anyone who thinks otherwise is just a hater. Way to go Caroline!
I cannot find my comment so I will try again. I am a huge fan of yours for years and I find it admirable you want to help Joe and Teresa. What I don't understand is why you don't try as hard to mend relationships in your own family first. I was hoping that this would be the case after Sandy hit New Jersey. I have seen both you and Dina on WWHL on separate occasions saying you would be the first to jump up and help the other if they needed it. Didn't you reach out to one another during Sandy just to ask "Do you need any help? Are you okay?" Life is too short. And whatever the squabble is, it has even affected Chris and Jacqueline.
I know it's none of my business or anyone not related to the family. I'm not asking anyone to reveal a secret. I just want you all to make up. It really makes me sad to watch and know you are denying certain family members the right to know you, and vice versa.
The only thing I can come up with is that somehow the thinking may be that someone is somehow more expendable when you come from a large family? That is not true. There will never be another Caroline like you, or another Dina. Please just try to cast aside foolish pride, or stubbornness, or whatever, before it really is too late.
Also, I think if you do make up, it would make your plea to Joe and Teresa more credible.
I just do not understand how it is any of your business regardless of whether Joe asked you to intervene or not.
I glad your boys are striking out on their own becoming real men now, restaurants i think might be a little risky in this economy, but i hope they make it....i knew the water thing would never work... i mean would would drink black water, kinda like a restaurant named Rotten,right..... also really glad your starting to see Melissa for what she is.
They are "partners" in the restaurant. Meaning they show up once in a while & collect a big paycheck, kind a of like being on Real Housewives. And I wonder if they serve blk. at the restaurant?
