I think Kelly's advice was good. If you don't like someone you can say hello and move on. Hopefully he will get the hint and stop trying. Ultimately its up to Ramona to decide who she wants to be friendly with and Simon is not on her list.
Kelly should have taken the advice she gave to Ramona about Simon. Kelly's behavior was totally inappropriate. When she told me in the car on the way to the Page Six party I didn't know she showed up late and that she told Bethenny she was the lowest on the totem pole. If you invite someone you don't arrive half an hour late and aggressively say you never want to be their friend. If you care that much to invite someone to solve a conflict this was done in the worst possible way. Unfortunately, Kelly lost her cool.
Kelly and Bethenny's conflict is between the two of them - it's really none of my business.I don't take sides, but if I did, Bethenny came out the winner.
Mario was insulting to Jill and her work, and there was no reason for that. It showed a side of him that was very unpleasant. He must have had a bad day at the religious boutique, as he appeared to be frustrated. He took it too far and did not behave like a gentleman.

LuAnn, I hope that you and your wonderful kids are doing well. I know you're all going through a rough time with the divorce. Stay away from Kelly. The woman is psycho. I liked it better when it was just the five of you. Kelly needs to go.

Oh my, people can be so harsh here. I've never commented on a blog so you are my first. I felt awful reading most of those remarks above and thought twice about writing though I haven't any negative comments to make regarding anything you've done. I love watching you ~ you handle yourself very appropriately, better than most people would if they had to conduct their lives on camera for the world to see.
I was a little annoyed by the comments people made about you throwing out your countess title, so what? I'm mean, I'm sure we've all thrown out something good about ourselves, it's human nature and there is no harm done at all.
Good luck to you and all of yours.

You're a beautiful woman who's done well for herself. You're living a great life. How about a little gratitude and humility? Two very sophisticated and cultivated attitudes, believe me, that the best of the best achieve.
So stop with the "I'm a countess and I know better than you how to be civilized," crap. You throw "countess" and "Native American" around as if they were personal accomplishments of yours instead of how you married and how you were born.
What you said to those girls at the Girls Club was unconscionable and arrogant. Swanning around on the basketball court in your pearls was so obviously your idea of bringing yourself "down to their level." Believe me, Countess, with your insincere and inauthentic attitude, you are nowhere near meeting UP to their level.
A true lady doesn't hold herself superior to others. I'll bet that's not in your book.

Luanne! As a Native American woman from the Sioux tribe in South Dakota, I was so excited to hear that you were a Native American too! I love that you embrace that part of your heritage and represent us with pride as a Native American class act woman! GO Luanne!!!

I have to admit I am a little disappointed in myself for taking my time to create a post as it pertains to you.I teach a "Media & Society" class. My students often refer to you as the "nut job" on the show. I have to agree. However, you do provide a great deal of entertainment.
My students are thankful for the extra- credit oppurtunites you have created for them. They are able to earn 5 extra points towards their final grade by telling me how many times you make reference to being a "Countess" in season one.
By the way.....from the start Bethenny did tell you that Kelly was late to meet her. Hello, you are being recorded on television. Would you ever consider watching yourself prior to posting comments? Please don't, the contrast is way to funny.

The episode that aired 4/7/09 showed you in a horrible light. First of all i agree with some of the other viewers... STOP telling everyone about being a countess. News flash... Most people don't care. That's more something for Europeans. In top of that it's pretty rude to monopolize a conversation about it. Especially at the Boys and girls club was no place for it. I don't think you know how to talk to children. Especially from the comment you made to the little girl that said she wanted to be a model. You were there to build up those kids, they have enough negativity and don't need to hear you tell ing them to loose weight especially with the age of that child. That may be how Countesses do things but in Urban America really anywhere you need to learn some manners.

Dear LuAnn,
Your confident, peace, and love inspire me. You are a wise lady with positive attitude and good spirit. I’m hoping that you can give me advice on marriage and in-law relationship. My husband is a 42 year old mom’s boy and my mother-in-law is a very negative and controlling woman. I knew it is impossible for me to change their personality and behavior, but most of time my husband allowes her mother to cross the line which affects my marriage. For 7 years, I’ve been put up with them. I only politely spoke up once with my mother-in-law, but the result turned out to be a disaster, not only she tried to make my husband feel guilty (as she often does), but has determined to “punish” me by “involving” more in my life. How do I enjoy and take control of my life but have peace with them?
Sincerely,
Lin

New York is so pretentious...and Ramona...some of Bethany's comments...so hurtful...and some of them are so menial...so ridiculous....dont they have better things to do ....the comments about your daughter attending boarding school by Ramona...how rude...really.

Hi LuAnn,
I have a few favorites of the NYC Housewives, and you are one of them. Being a Countess has not given you the class, style and manners that you've learned. You've learned those attributes by listening and caring about those around you. Remind us more of values and morales, rather than the title you own. Like I said, you are one of my favorite housewives, but I have to tell you that the title talk is really annoying sometimes.
A true fan of yours!

This is a guilty pleasure show for me and I can't sleep, checked my emails and nothing has been so in the face entertaining as this last 'squabble'. So I am imbibing... I live in a major city and get dragged into the "social scene" with my husband. Being high profile, I can take it or leave it but always with a gracious sense of style. NYC is a lot like SF and I find it interesting to watch how the social scene is knowing that one will or will not be a social match. Frankly, I was disappointed with Kelly, She is quite lovely, however she reminds me of the person you meet at a party and is "not there" in the present. I watched with great embarrassment that she allowed herself to allow her insecurities to get the best of her. I have been in her shoes and frankly, it's not easy, however, even a silent woman appears wise when she is silent, something I am learning through my maturity.
Narcissism is alive and well, I myself, Kelly and Bethany all share some of these attributes. This is not a bad thing. It is how one handles themselves in the present moment and social environment.. It seems Bethany just chooses not to be part of that and continues to be a trail blazer. It is how they respect each other for their differences is when they will not have the biting edge you view on TV - (what about all the outtakes... if I were a fly)
But the bottom line is, as a woman, we all have insecurities and it is how we treat other women regardless of the social class, that will allow us to be gracious, interested, elegant and regardless how we think, we will always keep it to ourselves, and hopefully grow and become better women/people/wives/ in general. The other day, a "close" acquaintance asked me a question, and gathering her intentions, I made a comment knowing it would get back to me. It did, however, I was the one who brought it up to my advantage, but all the while letting them think it was their idea.... Good Luck Kelly, You should stay very close to your social group and continue to have a unique and fun style - work it. You are a lovely, beautiful and fun, and perfect for that NYC networking, famous set of friends. The perfect fit for you!
Bethany, you are moving in all the right directions and will be all over the world in a classy/elegant world surrounded by people who will recognize your unguarded, innocent, willingness to grow and be better, always allowed to "apologize" for what you lack but how much you want to grow into the lovely lady you are becoming. I admire your tenacity and have watched you style and elegance shape who you are. Never forget that. Just because of where you are from should not and cannot shape who you are becoming.

I really like your style and I don't mind the countess thing because you are obviously proud of your husband and what his family stands for which is pretty cool. I also appreciate the fact that you don't go out of your way to be unkind then hide behind some false moral highground. Ramona and Kelly could learn a thing or two from you and the other women.

Hello Countess, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy watching you on the show! You have a lot of class and style and bring an air to the show that it sometimes needs with all the shananagens going on. I also agree with you about the situation with Bethenny and Kelly. If Kelly REALLY wanted to talk and work things out. She should'nt have been late and then so confrontational. I think she just wanted to blast her but all she did was make herself look bad. Anyway, your a beautiful and inspiring lady. The other gals could learn a lot from you. Especially Ramona. I like her but she needs to tone it down a little bit. I hope the show gets the green light for another season. All my best...:)

First of all, I love watching the show. One because I am from NY but live in Orange County. Two because I love getting to see peeks of the city and its surrounding and of course because of the ladies of the show. I have a love/hate with the Countess. Sometimes you do come out a bit arrogant but other times you are the absolute opposite. Such as when you stated that you love being involved in charity work. That a person in your status should give back, and I totally agree. If I, who is waaaay below the 6 figure salary can find something to do with different charities, then definitely someone who is above and beyond can do it. So Countess, I tip my hat to you.

Agreed. Mario way out of line. He is an accomplished tennis player trying to bully an inexperienced female into a match so that he can have bragging rights.
Agreed. Don't invite someone to a talk and arrive 30minutes or late period. All these things will hopefully be addressed in your manners book. Being on time. How to interact in public. When and how to appropiately discuss problems and not at social functions in public.
I am sorry but although many people find living and acting outrageous in public is acceptable but there are a large portion of people that try to conduct themselves with class and wouldn't bring up issues in public but do it privately.Curious to see your manner book. I hope its modernized manner book for now. Cell phone and texting etiquette.
Its insulting to meet for drinks or dinner and have someone text and talk on their cell phone. Leave it off please.Lets see the book!!!

Countess, you being on Bethenny's side (which I disagree with, but anyway) shows that you have much more class than Bethenny ever could. I mean, now that the season is on tv, you are probably noticing how Bethenny has badmouthed you all along. But I guess she's now done doing that since she hates Kelly with such a passion.
Why on earth have this show's producers annointed Bethenny as this season's golden child? She SO does not deserve it! I can't imagine why people are so crazy about Bethenny.
I ordered Kelly's yoga pants, and I have pre-ordered your book, LuAnn. I wouldn't spend two cents on classless Bethenny.

Mrs. de Lessepps,
I never respond or write to any blog or television show, but felt I would be remiss in not taking the opportunity to thank you for the fine example you provide in each and every episode of this show with regard to what it means to have "class."
Amidst all of the arguments, hijinks, petty jealousies, and poor form demonstrated by each of your fellow castmembers, you always manage to rise above the occasion and outshine everyone else with grace, decorum, dignity, and style. Being from the American South, where "new" money and "old" money are as obvious and different as oil and water, I wholeheartedly admire you.
You are a true "lady" in every sense of the word, and I am overjoyed to have been introduced to you on this show. Looking forward to your book.
With due respect,

LuAnn,
You were my favorite housewife last year and you continue to impress me this year. As the other posters, I was very glad to see you defend Bethenny after Kelly's meeting with her. You had impressed me last year during the girls-only dinner at Jill's when you (and only you, unfortunately) stood up to Ramona during her rant against Simon and Alex; you also tried to make them feel better, as they must have been completely humiliated.
You were even able to hold it together this week during the kitchen preparation for your cancer center as Ramona, in her typical self-centered, uncivilized way, said unkind things about your husband as your daughter sat listening.
It is refreshing to see someone with manners and civility. I look forward to next week's episode!

I was raised on Park Avenue and lived the life, but it was a far cry from the show. The show astounds me. "Class" wasn't in our vocabulary...the word was considered vulgar. But...if anyone has "class" on this show it is LuAnn and Bethenny. Kelley is sorely lacking "class" as demonstrated by her little talk with Bethenny (who handled herself beautifully). Kelley made a fool of herself then and when she met her date; he seemed to be embarrassed by her behavior and incessant chatter. She is definitely not camera shy! I like Bethenny, she seems to be the most "real" and down to earth. And LuAnn has sophistication that Alex, Ramona, and Kelley lack. Alex and Simon are pathetic. They would probably be much happier if they weren't frantially chasing their dream of living among the elite.

I especially loved how you stuck up for your husband when Ramona attacked his age. I kind of felt as if she was saying you married him for his money and his title. It was kind of like in the past how you two went to the fashion show and she was saying that models aren't smart and that they just had to worry about being pretty. I don't know much about the modeling world but I do know that you can't knock something you've never tried. But I do admire you keep up the good work

You are my favorite housewife on this show, and I always read your blogs. But in this blog, your grammar and punctuation (or lack thereof) really grated on me.
I think that because you portray yourself as an elegant, elite arbiter of class, I would expect that you would care about the blogs enough to proof-read them. Or, to add a comma. You're just lovely and delightful. But I'm sure you already knew.

Countess...You are stunning and I like you a bit more every week. And as far as Kelly goes, I am glad you so elegantly stood up for the truth; however, unless you have decided to go into psychotherapy, I would steer clear of this debacle of a woman. It is obvious by her bizarre behavior, shifty eyes, and lack of manners, she is not be a likely fit for you and your tasteful lifestyle. She truly is beneath you dear.

It's HIGH time you all ditch the furs! Thousands of helpless animals are skinned alive every day for vain people.

Countess Delesepps, you are a class act and are just as beautful as you are elegant. You're right when you told Bethany about men being frustrated with women making more money then them. But these career minded ladder climbing ladies don't want to hear that. You're right, Kelly is rude and brash and has no manners what so ever. Bravo to you for telling her how wrong she was in the limo, cause I don't think she had a clue.

Countess, you have class. The way you communicated to Kelly was in the spirit of respect. Instead of making a "mountain out of a mole hill', you reminded Kelly what really occured. Countess, hands down, you are classiest lady on the show. Would love to have you in my girlriend circle :0)

Luanne, You finally redeemed yourself in my eyes with your impression of Kelly's handling of Bethenny. There is no question that Kelly has been way out of line with Bethenny. Thanks for standing up for Bethenny. She deserves the support and Kelly deserves a good quick kick in the you know what!!!!

Countess,
You made me so happy when you stuck up for Bethenny! But you really should stop hanging around Kelly if you want to uphold your classy image

I agree w/ cparkeast. I'm glad you defended Bethenny.

LuAnn, I am starting to like you again. Just please stop with "the countess, the countess". Although, I appreciate your knowledge of your husband's family history, I think you should focus on promoting your side of the family as well. Your mom seemed so nice and yet so displaced when she visited. Give us more of her history. I am sure she's a winner.

You were the ONLY cast member to remain out of any fray. Good job ducking and letting someone else take in the face. You have retained your Countessly position as being the calm, cool and sensible one from that Ship of Fools. They really did make idiots of themselves - every last one of them. It is clear that none of you people are actually friends. There is too much leakage going on (of secrets, opinions, etc.). Keep your head covered. It looks like it will continue to rain buckets in future episodes.

LuAnn,
I have so much respect for you re how you dealt with Kelly in the limo ride and her rant about Betheny. You were in an uncomfortable situation and you made your view clear but in a non-confrontational manner. Brava.

Thank you LuAnn for your comments on Kelly and Mario. I must say I was totally shocked at Mario's behavior. I think my jaw actually dropped. He was being very aggressive, rude and childish in his interaction with Jill in this last episode.
I had a sneaking suspicion that Kelly was self-absorbed, but her behavior toward Bethenney was atrocious. It's really funny when I hear people say that "I just don't care what someone thinks of me", or "Their comments didn't bother me"., etc. But, then proceed to tell everyone they meet about the episode. Evidently it mean more to them than they're saying.I really enjoy your participation in this show. Keep up the good work. You might want to play down your "Countess" title to a degree. I do admire your etiquette and ability to be civil, but sometimes presenting your "title" to people - particularly in America can be off putting.
Thanks again.

I am not fan of Kelly about I think someone has to give her the benefit of a doubt. Imagine if a near stranger (well, that's what she though Bethenny was.) seemed hostile toward you and jumped at a chance to verbally attacked you in front of others wouldn't you want to do something about it? Kelly advised Ramona to walk away "if at the end of the day Simon is Not attackink her, her family or friends..." which Simon really wasn't at that point. But Bethenny really was very hostile towards Kelly. I think it was bad manner on B's part to hold the other woman responsible when her ex was flirting in front of her. Lets be real that's what the tension really about.
