Ball Breakers

Mario reacts to Silex's renovation, Bethenny's date, and Jill's latest remarks.

April 29, 2009

Well we finally get to see Bethenny on the dating scene. Her friend Frankie definitely has good taste and set her up with a very handsome gentleman who seems very secure. Of course Bethenny has to mess with his head by telling Patrick that she loves to be a ball breaker. Hey Bethenny, here’s an update for your recent dating rules: Men don’t like women who break their balls. As we Italian men say, Non mi rompere I coglioni.

Alex and Simon give a tour of their house in progress. The renovation has taken longer that the painting of the Sistine Chapel. Though the kitchen was very nice, I do have to agree with Bethenny (but she will probably take it back) about the bordello look. I was waiting for the escorts to come downstairs and join the party. Simon, the living room definitely works with your shiny red pants and black jacket look. Sorry we were unable to attend as we had previous plans with very good friends and they were not up for schlepping to Brooklyn. We were not trying to diss you and Alex. Maybe another time. I’m pleased to see how much better your boys are behaving since last year. Can’t wait to read the parenting book that you and Alex are working on.

A "girls' night out” will now hold new meaning for LuAnn. Don’t worry about getting dating tips from Kelly. And why does she always play with her hair like an adolescent girl? Better you go with Bethenny’s rules of dating.

Betheny did all perfect. A woman should not care about what a man wants but be herself, only this way she can find someone who fits who she is. And looks like Betheny did it perfectly fine

What does Mario Singer do for a living? I know Ramona sells jewelry on HSN but what does Mario do???

Mario, last season I had such an extremely high opinion of you. I really think at your core you are a real stand-up guy. I believe that if Jill had let you pick her tennis partner that you would have picked someone who would make the game fun and equal. Please dont fall prey to all the nonsense surrounding this show. In two years no one will remember your name so keep your integrity. Criticizing the decorating choices of the VanKempens isnt really necessary....we all have varying tastes. And I have renovated four homes and trust me, their's was done at a normal if not faster than normal speed. Don't sell your soul for a silly show. We, the viewers, are smarter than you give us credit for and see the castmates who are being exploitave, jealous, manipulative and camera hungry.

Sorry but, Jill's comment that Ramona needed an I.V. of Pinot Griggio was not only HILARIOUS, it appears to be true.

Mario, I think you are a great sport, taking all these low ball comments from catty viewers.

I think you are a terrific guy and the best looking husband in the show - thank God for that, atleast there is one good looking husband in the show. (Bobby and Simon is too gross to look at. yak!)

I love how you care for your firey wife and love your daughter. It's wonderful to look at.

Mario,

Love your blog, keep bringing your humor to the table.

It's a good thing we know certain viewers aren't our judge and jury, it's too bad they don't know this!!

You and Ramona are my favorite couple on the show. It's great how much you two like and respect each other. You seem like the most normal family that isn't desperate to shop and attend all the parties on the planet. It's nice to see a family like yours represented.

Mario my advice to you is the next time you go to church TAKE THE EAR PLUGS OUT! I'm sure your Priest has a message for you. Confession will serve your soul well also.

I guess you are the new Simon!!! So sad!

Mario,

I liked your blog, it's nice to read something that makes you laugh. You have a great take on the show and some will be offended, hopefully they will find a sense of humor and get over themselves!

It's great how you and Ramona interact, it's obvious you are great friends and adore each other. It seems as though you two have a relationship that doesn't revolve around shopping and parties, it's nice to see a real loving couple with a great family life.

Best of luck to you and your family, hopefully we'll see a lot more of your family next year.

Mario,
Your right though when you said this is the "Real Housewives of New York City" so why do you even have a blog? Maybe Bravo will do a spin off for the husbands but until then your commentary is not needed.

Mario, you are the new Simon. Now you are blogging on a show about housewives. Maybe you should focus on tennis and not gossip. It does not suit you.

Mario as always you keep me in stitches. I wish they would give you more air time. It is so refreshing to see a couple who really like each other. I love Ramona's positive energy and her sensitivity when it comes to Avery. Keep your blog going Mario, it brings a chuckle to my day.

Isn't it funny how Mario is the cattiest housewife of them all?

Haven't we seen and heard all about your company? Jill
should be proud of Zarin Fabrics. By the way, why in the
world are you putting in your two cents? You were better
looking last seasons when you were seen and not heard.

Mario

Your tip to Bethanny is a little out of line. So here is a tip to you: Women don't like men who come off as manipulative, cocky, arrogant and controlling and Mario you are all of those things. So get over yourself and maybe you and RaMEANa would be better suited on the show.

Mario~ I believe that if you and Ramona would just not worry so much about the other housewives then you would be more settled on the show. People would respect you as a man more. I mean, you have a very beautiful family so lets see you concentrate on them and not worry so much about the others. I don't believe that you are jealous of Jill and Bobby but do believe that there is something going on there with you all. Keep up the great work but a little less drama from a mans point of view would make you the best housewife out there.

Hi Mario,

I think your Zarin Fabrics comment is hilarious - love it. Although your jewelry line and Ramona's skin care line have had a lot of face time (pardon the pun) as well. But anyway. Speaking of your jewelry line - as a Christian, I think you should try to present yourself to the world in a way that shows Christ to others. I think you're funny, and I think you have a right to defend yourself and your wife, but I don't think your comments will encourage others to invite Christ into their lives through your example.

Best,
Laura

I think this guy will be very sad when the show ends and he returns to oblivion. I hope he someday recognizes the value that therapy could bring to help him work through his narcissism and jealousy.

Mario,

I have tried to let you know that I find you funny and think your blog is great.

I hope this will be posted so that Jill will stop speaking for all the viewers! I have a sense of humor and appreciate yours. Thanks for the blog.

To those who have issues with Mario and Simon getting their personal blogs, how stupid are you?? just get out of here and go into someone else's blog, then! Haven't you noticed that Mario and Simon are both in the show? So Yes, they ARE part of RH of NYC. dah~ OFCOURSE they have the right to comment/explain their thoughts when they are part of the main story, especially if they are getting money to blog.

I personally like Mario over Simon, at least Mario isn't a social climber, and is easier on the eye. But I think both of them are good sport to put up with all this nasty viewers for something their wives have pulled them into.

Ah, did you watch the show? The date's name is Phillipe, they made a big deal out of his name and the restaurant's name being the same, did you not hear that? And the drink was developed at that restaurant [also mentioned on the show] which is why they could order it before it was publicized. Next time watch the show before you comment,it will be much more meaningful.

Mario,

I think you have a great sense of humor, there will always be other's that lack a sense of humor. It's such a shame that some are blinded by Jill and love to attack you for your take on the show.

I think it's great how you've called out Jill's drama queen act. She loves to make the show all about her and the hawking of her products is so desperate. Maybe you're comments will make it stop, probably not since she thinks she knows everything but we can always hope for the best.

You and Ramona have the most genuine and loving relationship, I hope we'll see much more of your family next season.

Thanks for the funny blogs and please ignore the comments that state how they speak for all the viewers, since they clearly do not!!

Mario - I think you are jealous of the attention that Simon is getting from the show and you are a Simon wanna-be. I had alot more respect for you lalst season when you were quieter and more in the background.

HA! Keeping busting Jill and Bethenny's chops! They DESERVE it! However I would appreciate it if you would leave Simon and Alex out of the loop, they are my FAVORITES! Your a pretty funny guy there Mario, when the humor is directed in the right place that is!

The self righteous attitudes and self absorbed motivations of Mario, Ramona and Kelly are repulsive.

Holy Canoli..All you people need to lighten up..Can't you tell Mario is " bustin' chomps"...Geeze!!!

I wasn't sure what I thought about you or Simon until the tennis match.

Well, glad I didn't miss it because Simon proved to me that he is a man and a sportsman at that.

Simon is up here and you are down there.

I agree with the other poster too, I think you are jelous of the Zerins.

Do all Businessmen of NYC behave like catty teenagers? I'm embarrassed for Mario.

Mario, you entertain me! You are far more fun to watch than Kelly on the show and even my husband, who is certainly not a fan of the show, loves when you are on!! Keep it up...love the sarcasm, especially when it is sometimes directed at Ramona!!! :)

Team Singers!!!

I love the advice you and your wife give-- its soo on target and to the point.

I think Bethanny seriously needs to chill on the sex appeal-- it was only her second date!!! Whatever happened to the courtship? The romance??? The leaving more to the imagination???

I love her character, and I honestly want her dream of having a family to come true, but she needs to work on her angle...

I think You and Ramona should write a book, similar to Greg Barret's "He Just Not that Into You"-- or maybe you two can hook up with him and the lady that co-wrote it with him and between the four of you come up with a book based on Ramona's dating rules, your take on them, and written in the similar style as Greg (et al)'s book. I bet with Ramona's wit, and your humor-- It'll be a top seller!

Yes, I think that would be awesum--Make it happen Team SINGERS!!!

Sorry Im super obsessed with the show, Im a college student with too much homework and Reality TV is my poison (lol)

There's nothing more un-sexy then a gossiping male who needs a lesson in how how deliver an insult without sounding like a twelve year old girl.

Very snide and unpleasant comments. You have little room to talk about Jill's endorsements when Romana talks incessantly about her business venture.

Please let the fighting stay between the women...Romona does not need you to step in...she can more than take care of herself.

I like your blog. Please keep writing.

Mario:
You crack me up. I would think your blog were written by a snarky woman with severe PMS if your name and picture weren't shown at the top. All men who complain about the snitty-ness of women should read what you write. Still laughing............

dont worry about all the mean comments! who cares!! the only people who waste their time bashing someone else are the people that have no life, and wish they were you

Dear Bravo,

WHEN did Mario or Simon become a housewife????

Looks like someone likes the spotlight as much as the owners of Zarin....

Good luck on selling your cross necklaces, just because you go to church on Sunday's does not mean you can act anyway you want Monday - Saturday.

From a loyal watcher who is TIRED of hypocrites!

People in glasses houses shouldn't throw stones.

Mario,

Is this really a picture of you? You and Ramona are perfect for one another!

Mario,
I'm laughing so hard...I love your wit!!! You're sure shaking the hen house!!!

Since it is INDEED, "The Real Housewives of New York City", why are we seeing so much of YOU?? You are probably the most conceited, unpleasant man I've ever seen. Not to mention judgmental. You have something to say about everthing. Unfortunately, no one wants to hear it. Please, if there is a season three. Let the one true man on the series - Bobby - show what a REAL husband is.

Why are you all so mean to each other?? What amazes me is that you all invite each other to events but in between talk about each other, judge each other, and criticize each other! I know you have to do things together for the show but this show is turning into who can one up the other one. You all need to lighten up, recheck priorities and try and be role models for your poor children!

I really don't understand all the meanness and cattiness; I understand that it makes good television, but, as a businessman, I would think that you would understand that it would eventually undermine your business interests. You castigate Alex as gay, yet the level of cattiness that you display toward LuAnn and her marital troubles, Bethany, and Jill is so indicative of the gay male stereotype. Step back, Mario, and get over your own 15 minutes' of fame; it should be back firing any minute now.....

I don't want to like you but you are growing on me because your blogs are pretty funny and besides you can't be THAT bad because your daughter is great. I did not appreciate your treatment of Jill though....

Mario, Mario, yes you are a little obnoxious in the scenes that you are in, but watching it all unfold is a lot of fun. It's nice to see how you care about your family. I think Bobby is a very nice man and Jill is so very lucky. You deserve to blog like anyone else on the show so ignore all the haters and keep on blogging.

Mario, your comment is hypocritical,
"Oh and if I have to see Zarin Fabrics one more time".
I guess you focus on others lives rather than your own. It appears you haven't noticed your wife has worn "True Faith" t-shirts and jewelry just about every episode, not to mention she has been promoting new skin care line "Tru Renewal" all season. Also please don't forget your home movie bit for her new line of jewelry for HSN. Leave the Zarin's alone they are good people and way out of your league.

Mario,

You are not even a good tennis player. Sorry.

I am a very hard working college student and my only time for indulgence is around 9 CST on Tues. I really used to enjoy all the drama, but you and Kelly are taking it too far! Why do you have to be so hurtful and personal? Ramona does drink A LOT more than Jill, that is a FACT. I do appreciate that at least you understand how crazy and childish Kelly has been on the show. But for some reason this season you seem to be acting like Kelly as well. Why not just be a nice, well-tempered, supportive husband like Bobby? Jill may be a little much at times, but it's a woman thing. Just try to leave the cattiness to your wife, she will do fine defending you two! The one thing I will say that is an absolute, is that it is obvious you and your wife love you daughter. She appears to have been raised well.

Since you are a christian, I thought as a fellow Christian I would give you some words to live by:
Luke 6:37 "Do not Judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned!" Just be happy with your own life, and not spend your time judging others even if they do it to you! Turn the other check and you will come off a lot less arrogant!

I think you secretly have a major crush on Jill. You love talking about her. Maybe you wish you were Bobby...

Just go ahead and face it Mario........you are jealous of Jill and Bobby, it's okay.......we won't tell anyone
