What a Trip

Sonja shares her true thoughts on George, Miami, and traveling companions.

These girls are really too much with the who gets invited on the trip and who doesn't! Not everyone is invited every time!

I have organized so many trips in my life, and the success of the trip really depends on the mix. If you're going to be at sea for 12 days with six couples on a yacht, or at 12,000 feet in the mountains with 12 couples, you have to be very careful who you invite or else you will not only ruin your guests' and possible business partners' vacation, but your own as well!

Face yoga, seriously? Ramona and I like to have fun and that was just going on far too long. Let's face it, I wasn't convinced. Let's be honest, my girlfriends from India are so lucky, their skin never shows age! Try to do what Ramona and I do at our ages; our skin should look like paper bags! I have my tricks and Ramona has hers.

Amazing that Carole has been working on her current book for four years but these things don't happen overnight. I feel like I'm giving birth to the toaster oven just as Carole says she thinks she's giving birth to her book!

I've been working on my toaster oven, and my cookbook for two years now. Reworking and tweaking both. If you really want to give something your best, it takes time and patience. With my movie production company, I produced an award-winning, seven-million-dollar film starring Forest Whitaker and Gabrielle Anwar, and had a slate of four more films, but was moving too fast. I got caught in the wake of that ship and it sailed!

At the same time I work on my current businesses, I still enjoy my life and my time with my daughter, family, and friends. Kids, they grow so fast, and I don't want any regrets! I loved producing movies and now I love cooking in the toaster oven for folks and my catering business is a joy, but I also live for my family and friends. So everything has to groove together. I have seen at my age how quickly life can end and how little money can do about that.

Ramona and I always get ready together! It's no big deal. I'm in France now as I write. I have my own room, but I'm always in my girlfriend Carol's room. It's her house, and she's my best friend. We are like sisters, so we want to be together before going out -- giggling and having a good time.

We like to tease Reid because Aviva acts so prim and proper and Reid really likes to have a good time and party. We share the scotch! Ramona and Mario, they know how to take a joke too. I actually fix Reid's shower in St. Barths, so now we are even for him having to repair the Miami shower! Anyhow, he loved every minute.

It's not like I'm sexy in the clod-hopping shoes and a comb in my rats nest called hair! We are girls being girls!

In fact, sometimes I have more fun with the girls getting ready for the party that at the party, if you know what I mean! Not my parties, of course. My parties are always fun, and never a dull moment! At minimum, we have a costume malfunction or a young singer taking advantage of the limelight to get her "Britney" on (Did you see Cara Quici perform on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen?) At least I'm still supporting the arts and feeding the Dreschers! No press is bad press folks.

Some parties you never know how they will turn out, so you have to enjoy getting ready because it might be the best part of your evening! You have probably seen the last couple of seasons, I always have friends over for a glass of champagne in my bathroom when getting ready. I'll have my niece, a date, girlfriends, my stylist, makeup artist, hair stylist, or interns. I live in the moment! it's not the destination, it's the journey

Everyone loves Harry! Love the Harry love fest with Ramona et al and especially when Reid says "We love Harry too!" Happy family, happy children! I like that LuAnn's family has that too -- respect for the ex. It's so important to the development of a child's self-esteem. Money will come and go, but memories are forever.

I don't think George is a sex addict, I just think he's a big flirt who has no boundaries!

Dissing Harry? What was Ramona sensing. I missed the whole thing.

First squirting orgasm for Carole? I think Mario had one! Straight out of his mouth onto the table!

Now we see George isn't a sex addict, he's just a cheater. Ramona says if you're not married, it's OK. I don't agree. I have to agree with Aviva and glad she pointed out I like to flirt with the best of them, but once I commit I like it to stick. I am very sensitive, and in fact, have been accused of living in the past. There's nothing wrong with yearning for the same kind of commitment once again. I won't settle.

Ah the age old discussion of designer exclusivity! We all borrow dresses from designers and we get territorial with our connections. I don't want to see myself coming and going in the same dress as someone else. So I like to be exclusive and if I see a designer I'm wearing dressing someone else, I'm going on to the next designer. It's simple. Everyone likes to feel special. Would that make LuAnn a designer addict? Or the designer a star addict? LOL. I don't know. But to be fair, the Kahns (OK guilty of name dropping -- takes one to know one) are not just a designer contact, they are Carole's dear friends and she obviously felt her toes were stepped on. It's not like she can drop her friend over this. And, the friend admits LuAnn does wear a dress well! Ouch!

Q&A: What Has Kelly Been up To?

Kelly tells us what she's been up to since we last saw her and what it was like seeing Bethenny again.  What have you been up to since we last saw you? Tell us everything!

Kelly Killoren Bensimon: After retiring from RHONY, I modernized my first and favorite Assouline book In The Spirit of the Hamptons, which is the first of the ever popular Assouline series. I also decided to wrap a bow on my past, which includes modeling, publishing, editing magazines, writing books, designing jewelry, and beauty consulting by getting my MBA in international marketing.

Presently, I am a partner in a fund that invests and finances fashion and accessory brands to take them to the next level. I also write a column for amNY where I get to interview New York mavericks and pioneers who are game changers in this new era. You never know what will trigger someone to be better, so I decided to interview those who are changing the world. I started a new blog #kkbloves which launched in Paris, France. #kkbloves is an organic extension of everything I love: fashion, travel, and insider information on who, what, when, where, and how. I launched an exclusive candle line called BAISER ROSE available at and continue to make vintage necklaces exclusively for KitsonLA.

My teenage girls are navigating their teens well and are constantly challenging me. As a single mother 365 days out of the year, I took a huge leap of faith to do this on my own. I’m so proud of my girls and how they are growing up in New York City. They always laugh that I’m raising them like a suburban mom living in an urban city: whatever works.

Last but not least, are you ready for my first NOVEL, which is almost finished? If you're curious about New York women who have lived through their twenties and are ready for a new chapter, Get Ready. It’s steamy, feisty, aspirational, and colorful. My girls and I continue to be advocates of FOODBANK4NYC, Generosity water, and Madison Square Garden’s Garden of Dreams. Fluffy says, “Hi,” and the horse I ride, Houston, says “Neigh."  Were you hesitant to see all the ladies again when Luann invited you to her girls’ night out?

KKB: Luann and I were at a book party at Omars, a private club downtown, and she asked me to come and have a drink, for she knows I don’t get out much. Luann honestly thought I would have fun, which I did. It was great seeing Ramona in such good shape after everything she’s been through. I admire her integrity and ability to raise an amazing daughter. Who of the ladies have you stayed in touch with, if any?

KKB: Luann and I are very good friends, and we see each other all the time. She’s an incredible mother and has navigated the world of TV beautifully, AND has maximized on it incredible way. Go LU!  Did it surprise you to hear that Bethenny was unnerved at seeing you again after all these years?

KKB: Bethenny has endured a lot since we last filmed almost four years ago. I understand if she was upset, since she didn’t know I was coming. I was happy to see her looking so well after all she’s been through. We got off on the wrong foot, and I hope one day she can see past as the past.
