SHAKE IN YOUR NUTRIENTS!

Jackie’s Famous Shake Recipe

- Blend a whey protein shake every morning adding the following:  1 handful of fresh or frozen spinach (the fruit cuts the strong green flavor), 1 cup of frozen mixed berries, the recommended daily dose of flaxseed oil, amino acid powder, water, and ice.  This is packed with your allotted food before you even start your day!

- Microwave frozen broccoli (a cup) and gulp it down like a vitamin. Think of veggies as easy-to-eat fat burners.

CALORIES COUNT

- In order to lose one pound a week, you need to create a weekly caloric deficit of thirty five hundred calories, or five hundred fewer calories a day (500 X 7 days = 1 pound of weight loss per week).  This means that by cutting out five hundred calories of unnecessary calories each day, or burning five hundred calories a day by exercising-or both-you’d be able to drop a pound or more a week.  On average, you can eat fifteen to eighteen hundred calories a day to lose around two pounds a week, as long as you stay active.

I just looked at the website and there are no items listed under shakes and bars.

I am confused about Jackie's own shake sold on the website. It has no protein....? Is this shake mix to be used in addition to a whey protein powder?

For those who keep asking, and i am not sure why since the info is on page 1

It is a PRE workout shake. On the show she says to take this BEFORE you workout, which she says is preferably first thing in the morning so you can get it out of the way and it is when your muscles are not tired. So this would also be a breakfast shake. So it is intended to be a Pre workout/breakfast shake.

The broccoli reference is NOT to put in the shake but as a side dish as an edible vitamin. I eat about 6 servings of many raw veggies throughout the day so I do not do this.

The ingredients are: 1 handful of fresh or frozen spinach, i prefer frozen 1 cup of frozen mixed berries without added sugar 5 gms of liquid flax seed oil 5 gms amino acid powder 8 ounces of water 9 cubes of ice

I've started using this formula, I went on line to find the supplements. There are many chain stores that supply vitamins and supplements that would have these things. Yep, L-Carnitine liquid form is there too! Btw, I LOVE this shake, it has amped up my workout and I'm not as sore afterwards!! thanks Jackie!

jackie said pre-workout, but of course post-workout would be fine too

Jackie said she likes it as a pre-workout shake. I think it'd be best first thing in the morning, so you're setting yourself up for a healthy, nutritious day. Of course, the shake would still be great post-workout too.

Jay Robb is excellent. You can go to his site and look at the nutrient content. I believe it is one that Jackie recommends too if not mistaken.

I did the exact same thing - the only thing I did not see added was water and/or ice. I left that out and drank the shake as is and it was delicious! ! Cutting out the sugar is the key to losing weight and getting cut. I can only hope to have your abs someday. LOVE YOU JACKIE

I think one is what I heard. Now, can anyone tell me when you are supposed to take this shake? I hear all kinds of answers. Pre or post workout? Breakfast?

RunnerMan
RunnerMan

I have all the ingredients and I am still confused. Is this pre or post workout? I have seen both answers here. It would seem with all the protein, it is good post for muscle recovery. But with all the other ingredients, it would seem that pre is best in order to maximize workout.

Who can answer?

Please read the COnsumer Reports study on the popular protein shakes. The one you mentioned is full of junk. The shakes I take have everything that Jackie specifies already IN them!

I have all the ingredients fo rthe shake and am on day 2 of making the shake. It is appoximately 300 calories. Which I thought was a lot since for the past 2 years I have only have the whey proteing shake alone with just water at 130 calories. But wow you feel so much better with all the other ingredients!! But it can be costly! However this is my breakfast every day!

The frozen broccoli goes in the shake, or are they saying to eat that separate??

Besides the shake, porkchop recipes, did Jackie say to add lemon juice to the water to help with fat loss -- came in in the middle of that show.

I have to watch what I eat as I am not only diabetic but also am preparing for open heart surgery (murmure) and kidneys that aren't functioning up to speed (delaying the heart surgery)-- neither the heart or the kidneys are byproducts of the diabetes just have the weight to account for that.
