What Does the Below Deck Mediterranean Crew Really Eat on Charter?
The Below Deck Mediterranean crew admits their eating habits while working are "bad" and also "treacherous."
When Below Deck Mediterranean returns for Season 4 on June 3, we'll meet a whole new set of charter guests with a whole new set of cravings. (Can we assume none of them will be pining for chicken?) But while we wait to see which wild dishes new chef Mila Kolomeitseva will whip up, we did get a little teaser of what will be eaten on board from the crew members themselves.
When chatting with The Feast in the video above, the seafaring gang filled us in on what they really eat on charter. And let's just say, it's not exactly kale and quinoa every day. Or, as João Franco put it: "[On-deck] eating habits are bad. Staying healthy is minimal."
Most of the gang agreed that all their hard work tending to the guests leaves little time to meal prep, so that usually means nibbling on whatever's around. For some crew members, that means keeping up a steady stream of constant grazing; for others, a little more snacking might be in order.
Perhaps remembering her panic attack from Season 3, chief stew Hannah Ferrier said, "This season I'm really going to try to eat a little bit more. Especially when you get stressed out, when you're anxious, when you're working so much, you really don't eat a lot."
Other crew members have a tendency to grab for sweet snacks whenever the opportunity presents itself, while captain Sandy Yawn has a plan for staying energized: "An espresso machine, sugar-free Red Bull, and Peanut M&Ms for me," she said. "That's the diet."
Watch the video above to hear the crew share more on their "treacherous" eating habits. And when you're through shaking your head at those, keep scrolling to catch a sneak peek at the Season 4 action.
