Captain Lee Rosbach Honors Late Son Joshua with a New Tattoo
The Below Deck captain inked a portrait of his son on his chest with the message, "Where's Josh?"
Captain Lee Rosbach decided on a meaningful way to pay tribute to son Joshua Lee Rosbach, one year after his passing.
In an Instagram post, shared on Wednesday, July 29, the Below Deck captain revealed he had begun the process of getting a tattoo in honor of his late son, Joshua. Lee decided on a portrait of Joshua's face on the left side of his chest along with the message, "Where's Josh?" He wrote, "Getting started at High Spirits Tattoo with the man Darian. I'll keep y'all posted as we move along."
Less than 24 hours later, Captain Lee revealed the finished product, which also featured a sky blue shadowing around the portrait of Joshua. "Thanks so much @high_spirits_tattoo_co for going above and beyond. You're the best. Will be better after healing, but our son is now where he should be and will always be, in my heart," he shared.
Last week, Captain Lee revealed that he and his wife, Mary Anne, had taken her wedding ring to be re-designed to honor their son, who passed at the age of 42 on July 22, 2019, after a 20-year struggle with addiction.
“This is what we have done in remembrance of our precious son Joshua, who left us one year ago today. We took my bride’s wedding ring, had the center diamond replaced with a heart and some of Josh’s ashes placed inside the heart, and his name inscribed on the outside and then soldered shut," Captain Lee explained. “This way, Mary Anne can keep a part of him with her always.”
In another Instagram post dedicated to Joshua, Captain Lee described what the past year has been like for the Rosbach family. "It was a year ago today that my bride, Mary Anne and I lost our beloved Son Josh to his demons. The struggle continues, but we're getting [through] it. Thanks to all of you out there for your unconditional support, it does not go unnoticed and touches me in the very depths of my soul. We are both very grateful for the random acts of love and kindness that continue to come our way," he wrote. “To Josh, we will always carry you in our hearts and will do so until our souls leave our bodies to join you. We love you and are very proud of the kind and loving person you were.”
