Below Deck Chef Adrian Martin Has a Scorching New Clapback to That Infamous "Chicken Is What Poor People Eat" Comment
The Below Deck chef won't soon forget the guest comment of the century.
Unlike his Below Deck Mediterranean counterpart, Adrian Martin has not had his cooking compared to dog food. But the Below Deck chef, who is typically lauded with compliments for his onboard meals, is still pretty shocked that someone took a bite of his main course of oven-steamed chicken breast rolled with mozzarella, tomato, and basil — and voiced offense at being served chicken. Specifically, the guest comment still ricocheting around the world was: "Chicken is what poor people eat."
Adrian first made a lighthearted, emoji-punctuated jab about the comment in a Twitter post. But he saved his full fire for the Below Deck After Show.
He admitted he was "quite in shock" when he heard that she had said that.
"That's one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard," he insisted. "I have worked for some of the wealthiest people in the world that I have served chicken to that have loved it... I didn't understand it, but seeing as how by the time dessert arrived, she could barely hold her fork anymore, I wasn't really surprised."
And that's what we call a mic drop! Watch the video above to see more of what Adrian and his crew mates Kate Chastain and Josiah Carter think of the now-infamous chicken comment — and the person who made it.
