Add "Non-Touring" to Your Beauty Lexicon
Contouring had a moment, and that moment was last year. This is now, and "non-touring" is what all the kids (Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, and the entire Balmain army) are into.
According to celebrity makeup artist Renee Sanganoo, the new trend is akin to "Spanx for your skin." Sounds a little uncomfortable, perhaps, but the "non-tour" style is actually lighter, cleaner, and way less heavy with the product than skincare crazes past.
After contouring started to fizzle, there was baking. The look—which, like contouring, was an old standby for drag performers—used layers of makeup and gobs of concealer to create a mask of pore-less perfection. (It actually looks kind of cool, but... you know, time and effort.)
Anyway, now we've moved onto non-touring. The new look is all about the dewy, lit-from-within, I-just-came-from yoga look. In other words, you highlight your natural skin, rather than than trying to blot out its imperfections or give yourself Sophia Loren's cheekbones. All you'll need is a primer, a tinted moisturizer, and a highlighter.
Sanganoo even laid out the steps for getting the glow in Marie Claire. So, print that out, tape it to your bathroom mirror, and we'll meet back here when the next trend hits.
