Bella Hadid Just Brought Back This Forgotten '90s Trend
Ah, the classic "going-out" top circa summer 1997.
Our nostalgia for the ‘90s has continued to prevail with the comeback of trends like crop tops, chokers, and platform sandals. But there is one particular look from this era that yet to find its way back into the spotlight: bandana tops. Ring a bell, anyone?
Well if not, let me refresh your memory. These midriff and back-baring tops are like a cross-fusion between a crop top and a handkerchief. In the late 1990s-early 2000s they could often be spotted on stars like Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera‒best paired with the lowest low-riders you could possibly find.
And just when we thought this trend was locked in the the ‘90s for good, It girl Bella Hadid manages to bring it back from the dead—with a modern day twist of course.
Paparazzi captured a photo of Bella stepping out in New York City sporting a hot-pink, polka-dot bandana top. She completed her ‘90s getup with a pair of light-wash, high waisted jeans, fresh Nike kicks, and a fanny pack. (Yep, those are back too.)
A flashback of this top was the last thing we were expecting, but we cannot deny that the RHOBH daughter looks super cool in this ensemble. Plus, it’s also a great way for Bella to show off the new mini rose tattoo on her arm.
Hmmm, maybe we’ll give bandana tops a second chance after all.
