As has already been documented, cats tend to be festive jerks when it comes to Christmas trees. They climb them, hide in them, and shake ornaments to the floor: It’s enough to make Christmas-loving cat owners say, “NOPE, NO TREE FOR ME NOW OR EVER, THANKS.”
But then there’s this reverent cat, who decided that a Christmas tree skirt—aglow with colorful holiday lights—would make the ideal setting to go into labor. (We have to admit, it sounds relaxing.) Her teenage owner, Twitter user @WeTheDanielle, documented the blessed event:
According to Buzzfeed News, the momma cat—named Tink—was a stray that the Florida-based Lopez family rescued around last Christmas. The Lopezes are thrilled to add four kittens to their family (they’ll be keeping all of them), and they’ve named them Noel, Joy, Christmas, and Faith.
And while we are happy to celebrate this sweet Christmas story, we’d also like to add a gentle reminder to have your pets spayed and neutered.
