Gasp! Contouring Is Officially Dead
Even Kim Kardashian declared the end of an era on her beloved beauty trick.
We're pouring one out for contouring, the beauty trick made most popular by Kim Kardashian and her equally famous sisters. How do we know it's ov-ah? Well, you see, Kim K. herself is no longer doing it on the regular.
"I think right now it’s more about non-touring, like real skin with less make-up on it," she shared last month, leaving us all shocked by the revelation. "I’m trying to wear less… and my husband loves me without makeup. Now when I travel I just bring a small makeup case, and I’m content with that. I’m really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer. I love contouring and I don’t think I’d stop contouring my nose – I know people think I’ve had a nose job but it really is just makeup!"
But she's not the only one who is done with it. We recently chatted with McKenzie Westmore, host of SyFy’s Face Off and the lady behind Westmore Beauty, who is also ringing the death knell on the look. "I'm getting tired of it. Oh my god! And now I'm started to see people contour their legs and guys are contouring their stomachs -- it's dumb. It's the worst. It's overdone now. It's been overplayed. I think we've seen several celebrities, that I will not name, really love it too much and I think have killed it," she said (ahem, we assume she means Kim). "I think there's a place for it, but it's overdone and I can't wait for that fade to be done."
Well, McKenzie the wait is over. It's officially RIP. And we all have Kim to thank for it. Long live strobing and non-touring!
Below, you can get a better idea of how to jump on the strobing bandwagon.
