10 Most Anticipated Luxury Resorts Opening Around the World in 2017

The year is looking luxe already.

If your idea of a dream hotel stay includes bragging rights that you were the first out of anyone you know to pay a visit — well, you'll want to read about these anticipated openings for 2017. Reservations are already available for some of these posh coming attractions, while bookings for others are soon to open.

1. Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square

Central London's latest five-star option is Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square, located in the former Port of London Authority building. You'll be staying at a location made more recently famous by the James Bond movie Skyfall. (Opening: January 26)

2. Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

The coveted 90210 zip code is about to get a little fancier next summer, when the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills plans to debut at the major intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards in Los Angeles. A rooftop bar with 360 degree views and a Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant promise to be coveted spots. (Opening: June)

3. St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club

What could feel more opulent than vacationing in Dubai? That would be vacationing at The St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, located inside the massive Dubailand entertainment complex that's currently under construction. Hole up in your villa with private butler service or get outside and pet the polo ponies. (Opening: February 1)

4. Kokomo Island Fiji

"The vision for Kokomo was to create the best island resort in Fiji, a private island paradise that caters to the fast-growing intergenerational market," Australian developer Lang Walker told Forbes. His creation sits on 140 acres surrounding The Great Astrolabe Reef, a diver's paradise, and features both villas and hilltop residences. And yes, you'll be forgiven for singing that old Beach Boys tune once you get there (by floatplane). (Opening: March)

5. The Surf Club

Four Seasons is readying the debut of The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida, a stone's throw from Miami Beach. The oceanside property is limited to 77 guest rooms and includes serenity lawns should you feel the need to be yogic. (Opening: 2017)

6. Prince Waikiki

Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki will soon be known as Prince Waikiki following a $55 million redevelopment. It's currently open through the transformation, but by the spring guests will be treated to reimagined oceanfront guest rooms, new restaurants, an infinity pool, a new high-rise wedding chapel and a commitment to a more intimate kind of service. (Completed: Spring)

7. The Fontenay Hamburg

Travel network Virtuoso surveyed more than 770 of its travel agency partners, who named The Fontenay Hamburg as one of the most anticipated European debuts of the year, citing that it's the first luxury hotel to debut in the German city in almost 20 years. The Fontenay sits on Lake Alster with surrounding parkland and onsite features include a rooftop indoor/outdoor pool and spa. (Opening: July)

8. Park Hyatt St. Kitts

Travel and Leisure is one of many leading publications that is super stoked on the opening of Park Hyatt St. Kitts, the first luxury resort to debut on St. Kitts in the West Indies, calling it the "ultimate spot for relaxation" for its focus on wellness, including spa treatments, meditation and fitness activities. (Opening: Summer)

9. Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach

Pacific Beach Hotel is undergoing a $115 million transformation slated to be complete in the fall. The property will then become known as Alohilani Resort, home to two new restaurants from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, a massive oceanarium in the lobby and new suites overlooking Diamond Head. (Completed: Fall)

10. The Ritz-Carlton Jiuzhaigou Valley

The Ritz-Carlton will open its first all-villa property in Jiuzhaigou Valley, a folklore-laden UNESCO world heritage site on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau in Southwest China. Views of the surrounding nature reserve's blue lakes, waterfalls and forests will be taken in from your stone terrace and private fire pit. (Opening: 2017)
