The Victoria's Secret Angels Are Going Punk for This Year's VS Fashion Show
It's all thanks to Balmain.
The Victoria's Secret Angels are going punk this year, and it's all Balmain's doing. Balmain's designer Olivier Rousteing loves a collaboration (he's given everything from drugstore makeup to $600 headphones a glam makeover). Now he's working with Victoria's Secret to design both VS merch and special VS Angel Wings for this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai.
There's going to be a "Punk Angels" section of the show, with models dressed head-to-toe in Rousteing's designs. That includes wings made entirely out of safety pins, as Vogue revealed, which is so punk rock. VS Angel Jasmine Tookes gave the wings a spin in a video, while dressed in a flashy choker, studded shorts, and intense boots. "I just feel really bad ass," she says.
That's not the only Victoria's Secret Angel wing news: Elsa Hosk is going to wear this incredible, Swarovski-encrusted outfit down the runway to commemorate Victoria's Secret's 15-year partnership with the crystal brand.
As opposed to the lighter-than-air safety pin wings, a Victoria's Secret rep told Women's Wear Daily that Hosk's wings are one of the heaviest every made, weighing in at 14 pounds with 275,000 crystals. Good thing Hosk works out!
