When it comes to highlighter, the beauty world seriously has zero chill. And as a highlighter junkie myself, I get it! Who doesn’t want their cheekbones to glow all day long? But lately, people are searching for more and more ways to incorporate shimmer into their beauty routines, and the latest fad may be just as weird as the vaginal highlighter. (Oh, yes—that's a thing, too.)

As Refinery29 pointed out,ear highlighting has become one of the latest strobing fads taking over Instagram. The trend sees beauty buffs highlighting their inner and outer earlobes. Yeah, we’re a bit confused too. While ear makeup may be something we’ve seen before on the runway, it’s certainly not the first thing you'd think of for an everyday look.

However, for those looking to take their glow to the next level, this seems to be the way to go. Model Miski (who has over 22K followers on Instagram), told Refinery29 that she first caught a glimpse of the technique through beauty influcer Bretman Rock. “Bretman Rock does it on his Snapchat, and I was like, ‘Oh my God. I can take my highlighting game to the next level,” she said.

A few scrolls through Bretman’s IG page will show you that he is, indeed, serious about his glow.

It may sound a bit odd, but overall ear highlighter seems like a pretty simple technique to try. And we can’t deny that it does look great in photos. Plus, summer is the perfect season to experiment with beauty a bit!
