Cynthia Bailey Is "Happily Recovering and Back in These Streets" Following Health Scare
The Real Housewife of Atlanta is feeling "grateful" following a surgery.
Cynthia Bailey is recovering following a health scare, which she opened up about just last week, sharing that she "noticed a slight raised lump on my back near my left shoulder blade about two months ago." She was eventually diagnosed with lipoma, and it was removed. And now the former model is back to life as usual. "Love is a beautiful thing! Didn’t want to miss this lovely union," she wrote on Instagram over the weekend. "Happily recovering & back in these streets. #lightscameraactionjackson #weddingday #love #godisgood @allthingsarinjackson #covered #godgotmyback #grateful."
In her statement to us last week, she explained in detail what exactly happened. "At first I thought I had been bitten by something, or it was just back fat. A couple of weeks later, I noticed that it was still there and seemed to be growing," The Real Housewives of Atlanta model shared. "I went to the doctor, and was told that it was lipoma, a fatty tumor ... I Googled it immediately and was blown away by the photos of the worst cases in particular. I was scared because as soon as I heard the word 'tumor,' I immediately thought cancer."
She then scheduled a surgery to have the lipoma removed. It turned out to be benign. "Surgery went well; however, it went much longer than expected because the tumor was embedded very deeply in my back and partially under a muscle. It was also larger than expected," she said. "In the end, thankfully all the lipoma was removed successfully, and it is benign."
After the incident, Cynthia noted in her email to The Daily Dish that "I am home at Lake Bailey recovering. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, texts, and flowers." And, judging by another Instagram she posted over the weekend, she is "Feeling MUCH better today & the love just keeps coming! Thank you my friend," adding, "#grateful #healthiswealth #lipomafattytumor."
Cynthia and the rest of the RHOA ladies will discuss more of Season 10's drama when Part 2 of the reunion airs Sunday at 8/7c. Preview, below.
