When we first met Bali Chainani on Season 1 of Family Karma, we not only became acquainted with her fabulous self (including her colorful closet) but also got some interesting details about her history.

How to Watch

Catch up on Family Karma on Peacock or the Bravo App.

As you can watch in the video clip above from the December 18 episode, the marketing executive reflected on her often complicated relationship with her first ex-husband, with whom she shares daughter Anushka Rajani. Since her ex put the down payment on their home, he told Bali she would have to sell the property to pay for Anushka’s college tuition — a move she felt was done out of “spite.”

Now, Bali is focusing on her new life moving forward, reflecting on moving in with her parents after leaving her former abode behind. While she noted how “tight” her new living situation often feels, she did say the experience was “actually really Zen” since the last few months in her old home were “stressful.”

“I never thought that in my wildest dreams that this would be how my life would end up,” she said in the January 1 episode. “When I lived in India it was like a Bollywood movie. Now we’re all sharing a bathroom!”

As for her moving to Louisville, Kentucky, to be with her boyfriend, O’Malley, Bali is still putting that plan on hold for the time being.

“The ultimate goal is to be with O’Malley,” she said during a confessional on the episode. “We’ve been together for over seven years, so… I want to be with him. But right now I’m not strong enough. After this trauma, I need the comfort level of my parents and my community. I don’t have that there. Miami’s still home.”
