Craig Conover's Pillows Just Launched in Stores (and Sold out in an Hour!)
The Southern Charm seamster's Sewing Down South is blowing up!
Craig Conover's lifestyle brand Sewing Down South has been growing quickly since he launched it back in April. What began as an online venture for the Southern Charm creative has now made the leap into the brick and mortar world with his first retail store client!
"So excited to be in our first store!" he wrote in an Instagram post. "This has been a crazy few weeks but the launch went off without a hitch. Swanky Southern is an awesome store and we sold out in a little over an hour. Thanks to the great people of Camden for welcoming me and can’t wait to be back in town in a couple weeks." He also has a pillowcase collaboration with Charleston's grande dame Patricia Altschul over at her site, Patricia's Closet.
“At first I got a lot of heat for sewing, but then, people started messaging me and thanking me for sticking to my guns and doing something that I enjoyed," Craig said in a release when Sewing Down South began. "It was at that moment that I realized, maybe I could help all the others out there that enjoy sewing, or doing anything 'uncool' who do it because they love it. I want to build a platform and a cool brand for us. Sewing isn’t just something for grandmothers — I mean, they’re great at it! But sewing is a craft, and designing pillows is a form of art and personal expression — at least for me it is."
Witness the rise of a new empire, one pillow at a time!
