What Do Jersey Shore and Invite Only Cabo Have in Common?
Other than the fact that they both feature shared houses...
If you're anything like us (even if you don't want to admit it), about seven years ago you were addicted to Jersey Shore. The ground-breaking series which produced six seasons and international remakes has one huge thing in common with Bravo's new series, Invite Only Cabo -- they are both produced by accomplished Executive Producer, SallyAnn Salsano. SallyAnn launched her own company 495 Productions in 2006 and has gone on to produce megahits like, Jersey Shore, The Real, Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, and now Invite Only Cabo!
Invite Only Cabo is centered around celebrity hairstylist, Larry Sims and a group of his close friends (who barely know each other) that he takes on an epic vacation. The new series premieres on May 14 at 9/8c, but to get you even more excited for the premiere we reached out to SallyAnn Salsano with a few very important questions. Read on as she spills the tea on both Jersey Shore and Invite Only Cabo:
Bravotv.com: Did you know you had a hit on your hands when you first started working on Jersey Shore?
SallyAnn Salsano: I knew I loved it and it hit very close to home for me because it was the life I lived growing up. I always like relatable topics and real people.
Bravotv.com: What are some of the craziest moments from that time that still stick out in your mind?
SAS: I loved every day, every way. I loved that experience, the staff, the cast, my network execs. It was a great team filled with trust as we tried something new.
Bravotv.com: Do you still talk to any of the Jersey Shore cast?
SAS: 1000% percent.
Bravotv.com: What do you enjoy most about working in reality TV?
SAS: OMG, I don’t know what else I would do for a living. I love it. The people, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. I’m super curious…ok nosy. I enjoy getting to know different groups of people from all around the country and living in their world and learning about what makes them unique. I feel lucky and blessed when I am welcomed into someone’s world, home and life...it’s a great privilege.
Bravotv.com: What are some challenges you faced during Invite Only Cabo that were different from your time with Jersey Shore?
SAS: Sometimes people got off on the wrong foot. For Invite Only Cabo they all didn’t know each other but they had heard about each other and (some) had preconceived notions.
Bravotv.com: Without giving anything away, what can we expect from Invite Only Cabo?
SAS: Friendships, hookups, cheating, fighting, laughing, crying, drinking...in a beautiful setting. The most gorgeous house of all time, ya know the goods. The realization that just because you love someone doesn’t mean your friends will. I love this cast, they reminded me of others in my life. This show also proves that at any age or wallet size we all go through the same thing.
Bravotv.com: If you can explain Invite Only Cabo in one or two words what would you say?
SAS: Shockingly relatable.
