A Bravoleb Designed Padma Lakshmi's Dress for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards
The Bravo's Top Chef host made a powerful appearance at the 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
Last night, influential women from all walks of life gathered at the 2018 Glamour Women of the Year awards. Included in the group of inspiring presenters for the evening was Bravo’s Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi. The culinary expert and author made a powerful appearance at the annual event when she presented an award to the women who helped bring Larry Nassar to justice for decades of abuse (aka the Sister Army).
For this very special occasion, Padma entrusted none other than Bravo’s Project Runway mentor and trailblazing designer Christian Siriano to style her for the evening. Padma exuded confidence and grace in a shimmering black gown with a high-leg slit by the celeb-loved designer. The statuesque beauty wore her hair in soft waves and completed her look with neutral makeup.
Christian also dressed Ashley Graham, Kat Graham, and Coco Rocha for the event.
Before arriving at the event, Padma took to Instagram to share her excitement for the evening: “I’m going to the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards and I’m presenting an award to the Sister Army — these amazing young women from the US Gymnastics team, who spoke out against Dr. Nassar (if you could call him a doctor) and also to the judge and the prosecutor and everyone else involved in bringing this guy to justice. And I’m very honored."

During the award ceremony, Padma gave a moving speech in which she talked about her sexual assault for the first time since writing about her experience in The New York Times. “Like those women, I could no longer stay silent. I may never, ever get justice. But in speaking up, I got my power back. I know my truth. And no one can ever tell me that I am not a reliable narrator of my own experience,” she shared.
