Taraji P. Henson Got the Best Mother’s Day Gift Ever: A Gorgeous Engagement Ring

Taraji P. Henson’s Mother’s Day began with a Cartier bracelet, #natch, and ended with a sparkly whopper of an engagement ring. The actress shared a picture of the ring — which appears to be a solitaire of impressive proportions and sparkle — to her Instagram saying, “I said yes y’all! ...  He dropped to his knee and I almost passed out! #sheisofficiallyoffthemarket and she is sooooooooooooo HAPPY!”

Henson’s been dating Kelvin Hayden, a former football star, for about two years. The two have been relatively private about their relationship, confirming only in December that they were officially seeing each other.

Though you might have missed it at first glance (the ring is understandably distracting), she’s holding her soon-to-be-husband’s hand in the picture. So sweet!

Obviously, there’s no denying the pure sweetness of homemade breakfast in bed by your child, but chocolate dipped strawberries, luxury jewelry, and an engagement ring that symbolizes bae’s never-ending devotion is a damn good way to celebrate Mother’s Day.
