During “Painful” Home Renovation, Dr. Jackie Reveals Why She Bought a Fixer Upper
The Married to Medicine OBGYN is struggling with the construction phase, but knows it'll be worth it in the end.
Dr. Jackie Walters is not mincing words when it comes to describing her renovation. In her latest Instagram post, the Married to Medicine OBGYN shared with her 806,000 followers, “Renovations are so painful. Why did I decide to tackle a whole house?” alongside a video showing the extensive work, which includes a massive addition. “It’s all coming together… slowly, but it’s coming together,” she narrated.
This isn’t the first time Dr. Jackie has shared details about the downside of living through a renovation. “The hardest part about renovating my home is living in my home and renovating my home," she told Home & Design recently. "I get to see everything. I get to see things they don’t do. I get to see when they leave early. I get to see when they leave Coca-Cola bottles in the wall. Yes. I get to look out at the port-a-potty that’s out of my house. Yeah. You cannot imagine. It’s painful.”
It was in the comments section of her post, however, where Dr. Jackie broke down her real estate choices even further. Several followers asked why she had bought this home when she knew it required so much work when building a home from the ground up would have likely been less stressful. “Would had less land. Location location location,” she responded to one commenter.
Well, there you have it, folks. Dr. Jackie made a tough — but smart — real estate choice, opting to buy a home with more land in a great location rather than building something new in a less desirable location. Because you know it’s all about that… resale price!
