Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, people around the world are staying at home to prevent the spread of the virus. For a change of scenery and a little more room, Emilia Bechrakis and Ryan Serhant from Million Dollar Listing New York (along with her mother, and their daughter, Zena) have headed to his parents’ home in New Hampshire. 

“I finally convinced Ryan to leave for a little bit, and come out to New Hampshire to his parents,” Emilia explained in a phone interview with BravoTV.com. “They have a lake house out here, and then it started to snow. I thought that I would be able to have the baby run outside a little bit, but that’s not happening. But we’re good. I’m thankful.” 

Temporarily relocating to a bigger house has been extremely helpful, especially considering that Emilia and Ryan are both working from home. 

“Ryan is currently in one room on work calls, and I am in the other. Zena’s doing laps in the living room because there’s a little bit more space for her here than our apartment. It’s all so new for her,” said Emilia. “Anything, even new cabinets are exciting for her. Just the fresh air and stuff, right now, we have beautiful snow out, so that is nice, too.” 

So... what did Emilia do to prepare her family to practice social distancing? She tried to stay as calm as possible. 

“I mean, I definitely didn’t hoard toilet paper. I always have toilet paper and paper towels,” she said. “Although I did try to at one point, and I realized there was nothing there. I did get things that I could freeze. Whatever things that I wouldn’t be able to easily find later if they weren’t fresh, like frozen fruits and vegetables. Eggs, milk, basic things. Pasta, stuff like that that oddly enough we don’t eat that much of, but somehow we miraculously want to eat all of it now that we’re inside.”

There’s also one thing Ryan was sure to get before spending some more time at home. Emilia revealed that he wanted chips because he thought they would have time to watch tons of movies. 

“We didn’t really go crazy,” she said.
