Hilary Duff Designed a "Sexy" Glasses Line Inspired by Strong Women in History
The fashion-forward actress teamed up with GlassesUSA.com to create a capsule collection we're crushing on.
Hilary Duff is a talented actress and singer, but she has a secret side interest that inspired her latest endeavor. "I love all different [glasses] styles — they're really just my passion," the celebrity mom told Most Wanted. And so, Duff recently teamed up with GlassesUSA.com to launch a collection of sunglasses and glasses named after strong women in history.
"When the opportunity came up with GlassesUSA.com, I got so excited to be able to create a capsule collection," Duff shared. "I really got to make frames and choose colors that I was wearing in my own personal life." Incorporating design features Duff herself loves — think milky pink hues and plenty of tortoiseshell — the capsule collection is incredibly stylish.
"Glasses can be so sexy," Duff says. "The thing about having to wear glasses is totally gone, and glasses are cool now. They're really a fixture in fashion. They help pull your look together."
Plus, the specs couldn't be easier to shop. "I love so much that GlassesUSA.com is an online business," Duff says. "I love to shop online, and the virtual mirror is like nothing I've ever seen before. You can take the frames that you're interested in, and then you can see yourself with the frames on, on the site. It's a really cool element."
Though Duff allowed that her favorite piece from the collection "changes all the time," she said: "Right now I'm really loving the Margaret. It has the little metal wire on the nose and kind of the bigger frame. I love the Clara; I think the Clara's maybe my favorite sunglasses."
She adds that men can wear the versatile collection, too — a perk her boyfriend takes to heart. "My boyfriend's favorite is the Stevie," Duff says. He has like three pairs of Stevie glasses all in different colors. He has written on the case: My Stevies, don't touch."
