Amen! Drew Barrymore Says She Loves Food and Wine Too Much to “Starve” for Weight Loss
Actress Drew Barrymore got real about her health and fitness goals now that she's 44 years old.
Drew Barrymore is our kind of woman. When detailing her health and fitness goals in an interview with PEOPLE, the actress said that keeping up with her kids inspires her to stay fit. However, she refuses to commit to any plan that won't let her enjoy the more delicious things in life.
"I’ve always been a big champion of embracing your own genetics, because I was never naturally that thin," she told the magazine. "My goal weight does not come easily to me — it is a total Sisyphus fight. I just knew that genetically it would take starving myself and 24 hours of working out to have that type of body, and that was just not my priority. I want to run companies and have children and enjoy food and wine.” Amen!
Now, just because she's not fighting to meet an unrealistic standard, that doesn't mean that Barrymore hasn't dabbled in diets every now and again. The Charlie's Angels actress recently shed 25 pounds by following an eating plan that included lots of fresh veggies, salads, and nuts. But she also tossed in the occasional steak, and — we presume — glass of vino.
