Peacock Is Launching Soon! This Is Everything You'll See on NBC's New Streaming Service
From launch dates to newly announced programming, here's everything you need to know about Peacock.
Peacock's big debut is just around the corner, and we've got all the info you need about this new entertainment hub and streaming service.
The Big Launch
Xfinity X1 and Flex customers will have early access to Peacock starting April 15, 2020. Peacock Free and Peacock Premium will be available nationally on July 15, just in time for the Tokyo Olympics. Both tiers will be available on popular mobile, web, and connected-TV devices.
Programming Highlights
The streaming service will be home to several popular NBCUniversal classics — and some of your Bravo favorites — including The Real Housewives franchise, Top Chef, 30 Rock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, King of Queens, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Office, and so many more. Peacock has also acquired top-rated hits from the Law and Order franchise, the Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med trio, Yellowstone, Two and a Half Men, and The George Lopez Show.
Early Access to Late Night Shows
Starting in July, Peacock will provide early access to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon at 8 p.m. ET and Late Night with Seth Meyers at 9 p.m. ET.
Peacock Originals
Peacock will introduce an original stand-up comedy special and a new interview series called Hart to Hart — starring the one and only Kevin Hart, of course. Staying in the realm of comedy, the service will also carry a new Tina Fey-produced series called Girls5Eva, about a '90s one-hit-wonder girl group that reunites for one last shot as stardom.
There will also be a few international hits from NBCUniversal International Studios available: The Capture, Lady Parts, Intelligence (Starring David Schwimmer), Code 404, and Hitmen (a racing series from Dale Earnhart Jr.).
The service will also boast a collection of scripted original shows and movies, such as Rutherford Falls, Saved by the Bell, Punky Brewster, A.P. Bio, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home, Dr. Death, Battlestar Galactica, Brave New World, Angelyne, and Armas de Mujer.
Some programs in development to look out for include Expecting, from Mindy Kaling, Division One, from Any Poehler, Clean Slate, from Normal Lear, and MacGruber, from Will Forte.
Movies Galore
Peacock users will be able to stream some of the biggest hits of all time. Titles include Fast & Furious 9, Jurassic World 3, American Pie, Bridesmaids, Meet the Parents, Shrek, The Breakfast Club, Jaws, and Despicable Me — just to name a few. Peacock also has original films and animated series currently in development from Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation.
2020 Tokyo Olympics
There will be exclusive content during the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, such as live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies before they air on NBC primetime, and three daily Olympic shows (Tokyo Live, Tokyo Daily Digest, and Tokyo Tonight). In addition, there will be over 1,000 hours of coverage for the Tokyo Paralympics.
Content for Kids
Peacock will be the exclusive home to Curious George, and will offer original children's shows, like TrollsTopia, Madagascar: A Little Wild, The Mighty Ones, Cleopatra in Space, and Where's Waldo. The service will also feature films for kids, like Trolls World Tour, The Boss Baby 2, and The Croods 2.
All the News You Need
A unique feature of this streaming service will be its breaking new coverage, which will be especially useful during the upcoming 2020 election. Peacock will also deliver NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and original videos from TODAY. In addition, the service will house Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, original documentaries covering a wide range of topics, and full episodes of Dateline.
