Mia Thornton

Mia Thornton is a woman who marches to the beat of her own drum as an entrepreneur, multi-clinic franchise owner and regional developer for the Joint Chiropractic Franchise in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Mia is a graduate of Southeastern Institute, where she received a certification in neuromuscular massage therapy. After graduation, she launched her career in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a clinic director, which eventually led to a five-year partnership with a prominent Fortune 500 company and the ownership of Massage Envy Spas. Soon afterward, the expanded success of the company allowed her to develop the Joint Chiropractic doctor offices across the Northeast region to include North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland and New York. 

Mia currently resides in Maryland with her husband of 11 years, Gordon Thornton, and three children – Joshua, Jeremiah and Juliana. Her philanthropic passion has led her and Gordon to serve on the board and sponsor families at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. She’s also a proud sponsor of a Better World, UNCF, Autism Speaks, a Child’s Place, Elizabeth City State University, St. Jude, CASADC.org, Charlotte Angels and Foster Love.
