Jamie Foxx Is Now Living with 21-Year-Old Sela Vave... But Denies They're Dating
Jamie Foxx says she's "as young as [his] daughter," but she's actually younger.
The world learned two major developments in Jamie Foxx's world this week: He and Katie Holmes appear to have ended their six-year relationship shortly after they officially debuted it to the world at the Met Gala in May 2019, and he's now spending a lot of time with a 21-year-old aspiring singer named Sela Vave.
Foxx, 51, denied that he and Vave are a romantic item after they were spotted holding hands while exiting West Hollywood nightclub Bootsy Bellows late Saturday night, but then Page Six reported that Vave has moved into his Woodland Hills party palace.
“We don’t ever cross lines like that, personal," he said on Instagram Live. He clarified that he is taking Vave under his wing as an artist and not a girlfriend. "I wanted to let you know, for all who were scandal chasing, that’s our artist, that’s our family… We are working.”
He cited his track record of opening his home up to artists on the rise.
“When I met Ed Sheehan, I didn’t know him from Adam. He slept on my couch for six weeks. He ended up going on to do great things. Nick Cannon was 13 years old. He used to sleep in my old house. [When] he was 13, my sister used to let him come in ‘cause he was partying too hard. Before Ne-Yo was Ne-Yo, he would come to the crib. Everybody come to my crib — no matter who you are. There was a young lady by the name of Sela Vave. I did the same thing with her. When I met her, [my friend] introduced me to her. He said, ‘This girl is amazing.’ So, she’s on my steps, singing Beyoncé, broken down, she’s playing the guitar. I said, ‘How the f--k? When did this happen?’ So we took her under our wing.”
He also explained how he brought her to Bootsy Bellows to network, not as a date.
“I’m escorting her to my car, to put her in the car — my artist, who hangs out with my kids, who’s as young as my daughter,” said Foxx, who has daughters who are aged 25 and 10, respectively. “I’m not no old n---a out here with no young folks. You understand what I’m saying? She’s been brought into the family, she works hard and she’s a beautiful singer.”
Vave shared Foxx's Instagram Live video and added her two cents: “For the people who care… here is the TRUE story(swipe)… for everyone else you can keep talking and calling me a whore, slut, home wrecker, thot, gold digger, that I should die, and what ever else you want. Because it doesn’t matter to me, I’m out here to work and do what I love most. #music #killthedoublestandard.”
