As Katharine McPhee and David Foster get ready to marry, she's reflecting on how their friendship has blossomed since it turned into a romantic partnership.
“We're so happy and proud of each other... It’s a different thing when you’re a team for sure,” she told PEOPLE.
The 35-year-old, who just finished a star turn in the musical Waitress in London's West End, has been friends with the 69-year-old Grammy-winning songwriter and producer (and ex-husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid) since she was 21 and fresh off American Idol.
“It’s going to happen when you’re not looking for it," she said of finding love. "It’s going to be the person that’s right under your nose, or it’s going to be somebody you’ve known for a long time, or it’s going to happen when you least expect it. It really is cliché but it’s cliché for a reason — because it’s true! It certainly happened for me that way.”
McPhee just enjoyed the most epic bachelorette party known to womankind in London (albeit without pal Meghan Markle), and she's definitely ready to get hitched!
