When some of the more salacious royal-watching tabloids started to report rumors that Prince William may have cheated on Kate Middleton with a married woman who bears the title, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, both couples immediately threatened legal action.
An anonymous source claiming insider knowledge told Us Weekly, “Kate finds the rumors hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online.” But the source also thinks that Prince William and Middleton might have found a constructive silver lining out of what happened.
“It forced her and William to sit back and examine their relationship, which they realized they should have been doing more often,” the mystery source said.
With their every public move scrutinized right down to their in-person body language, things can easily get misconstrued. This happened just a few months ago in a rather dramatic fashion, when brother Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan recently unfollowed Prince William and Middleton on social media and everyone freaked out (but there's a really good explanation, we promise).
Prince William and Middleton have been married for eight years and have three children; they're doing something right.
