What It's Like to Date Wendy Williams (in Her Own Words)
Be warned: Wendy Williams is gonna ask some intimate questions of her new boo.
Wendy Williams has been a real-life Hot Topic for a minute, but she's now decided to separate fact from fiction, responding to a number of rumors that have popped up in the past week.
One well-propagated rumor is that she was hiring back Kevin Hunter, her soon-to-be-ex-husband, as her business manager. She shut that right down once she hit the radio airwaves this week.
"The only business he can manage right now is signing some divorce papers," she said matter-of-factly in an interview with Sway in the Morning.
Williams is now dating, though she told Sway Calloway, "I'm realizing I'm not a girlfriend, I'm a wife." She also expressed that she's still in shock that she's single.
"I'm dumbfounded by the shock that I'm even out here in these streets" looking for a new relationship, she said.
Men are loath to approach her, so she has to pretty much pick them out herself, Williams said, which is contrary to what she really wants — "a man to lead me." She's come up with some new rules for dating, too, which include never letting a man see her in the bathroom or take a shower with her. The man can have kids, but they should be over 21 and out of the house.
Those who do end up on a first date will be going to dinner with Williams at a restaurant of her choice. The meal will be an hour and a half or two hours, but there won't be dessert.
"I have a bag of Jolly Ranchers in my bag and I can eat that on the way back to my apartment," she said.
The man absolutely has to be circumcised; she'll ask during that first date (if not earlier), she insisted.
"I'll say, you have sexy eyes, that rhymes with circumcise — I just have to ask you, are you circumcised?"
It's a wonder Williams even has time to date at all. Aside from her talk show and executive producing the new Jerry O Show, she's at the helm of a Lifetime biopic that she wants to call Just Wendy and revealed it's part of a larger "situation" with the network that will find her producing other works.
