Mercedes "MJ" Javid Opens Up About Why She Revealed Her Miscarriage Scare
The Shahs of Sunset mom-to-be credits her husband, mom, and friends with supporting her.
Earlier this week, Mercedes "MJ" Javid opened up about a scare she encountered in her pregnancy back in December. On Instagram, she confirmed why she has been on bed rest, sharing with fans that she had been briefly hospitalized back in December and underwent a small procedure called a cervical cerclage after it was discovered that her cervix was measuring too short. She noted had she not gotten treatment, it could have potentially led to a miscarriage.
And, now she tells Page Six why she wanted to share that event with her fans. “I just wanted to make sure that fans, followers, or viewers of the show don’t feel excluded,” she said. “I don’t want anyone to feel that there should be any secrecy in the process, and the outpour of well wishes is really awesome."
The Instagram post also included a video of MJ in the hospital at the time of the incident, she added to Page Six: “When I took that video [I posted], it was honestly hard for me to even form sentences because I was so scared. Tommy has been so incredible and loving. He’s just beyond what I ever expected from a husband in a situation like this.”
In addition to love and support from her hubby, her tough-as-nails mama Vida has also been there for her daughter. “This is a woman who discouraged me from ever getting married and having children, so now that I’m doing what I want, she’s being loving and supportive," MJ said. "It’s great.”
Though her support system definitely extends far and wide: “Reza [Farahan] visits regularly,” she said. “Mike [Shouhed] has come by, and I have long conversations with Nema [Vand] and Destiny. I tell everyone to keep me entertained with their drama so that I can live vicariously. I’m deep in their IG stories.”
The Shahs of Sunset friend is currently expecting her first child with husband Tommy Feight; she's due around Mother's Day.
