Christian Siriano Describes the "High-Stress" Vibe at the Final Runway: "It's Scary"
We got the inside scoop from Christian Siriano backstage at the Project Runway Season 17 final runway show.
The time has come for the final runway showdown on Bravo's Project Runway. Can you believe it?! After months of enduring challenges throughout New York City and creating fresh designs week after week, the fashion competition is down to three contestants: Jhoan Sebastian Grey, Gary "Garo Sparo" Spampinato, and Hester Sunshine — and tomorrow we will find out who is the winner of Project Runway Season 17.
Moments before the big finale, we caught up with Project Runway mentor Christian Siriano and he gave us the inside scoop on the vibes backstage. "There’s high stress, it’s scary. But the models are looking amazing. Hair and makeup is happening — it’s all coming together," he told The Lookbook.
The models and designs weren't the only components of the finale Siriano was impressed with. "Having CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) involved is amazing. Having Diane von Furstenberg be the judge for the finale is so important. Having this venue is so amazing," he shared.
The excited designer also told The Lookbook this is his favorite part of the show "because you really get to see the designers’ work and actually what they want to do with no challenges." He explained, "You have to tune in for this episode because this is what it’s all for! To show a collection, create a collection, and then the winner is announced... This is the best part!"
We couldn't agree more!
Tune into the Project Runway Season 17 finale Thursday at 9/8c to see which designer wins it all.
