Shahs' Mike Shouhed Is Prepping for a Big Birthday With a 90-Day Challenge — But Won't Cut This From His Diet
The Shahs of Sunset pal plans to be living his best life when he hits 40.
Reza Farahan isn't the only Shahs of Sunset pal who's on a major health kick. Mike Shouhed recently shared with The Feast that he's doing a 90-day challenge in preparation for his big 4-0 coming up on October 12. He also took to Instagram to share with fans some details about the plan he's embarking on — and it's all about clean eating, working out, and "limited" alcohol. Hey, he knows the key is moderation, so he's got to leave at least some booze in the equation to keep things sustainable!
In truth, Mike told The Feast, "I limit my drinking — I’m a social drinker anyway, but I’ll just have one drink a week or two drinks if I’m out."
And he's balancing that moderated booze intake with hydration, too. "I’m drinking more water, which is key. I drink a gallon of water a day. You know, water is life, and a lot of people think, 'Well, I drink coffee.' No, coffee is actually a diuretic and it’s gonna make you dehydrated so you gotta drink water."
Summing up his approach in an August 6 Instagram post, the Shahs pal wrote: "This is the... 90 day challenge! Gym 5 x week. Eat clean ... no 'junk" food.' 1 gallon water a day. Limited alcohol."
Sound doable enough? Mike urged his followers to send him a direct message letting him know they're in on the challenge, and adding two hash tags: #90DayChallenge and #WeAllWin to participate.
He told The Feast, "I’m just trying to get people to start thinking, OK, I’m part of this challenge, Mike’s holding me accountable, and I’m going to use that as an excuse to become healthy. So, you know, baby steps to get people to start thinking healthier.
And, it already looks like he has some takers! Several of Mike's fans have been tagging him to show off their healthy meal selections, and Mike is showcasing his own progress as he goes along. (Jumping rope and gallons of Essentia ionized water anyone?) Scroll down to see the first snaps from the challenge, and get some inspiration to hop on board yourself.
