Shahs of Sunset's Reza Farahan embraced a a strict diet and fitness regimen when he lost 40 pounds last year — getting up at the crack of dawn, going to the gym, and sticking with an eating plan developed in consultation with a nutritionist. The real estate agent is still looking amazing — and we caught up with him at the DailyMail.com and DailyMailTV summer party, also known as Tom Tom's soft opening, to find out how he's doing it.
We wanted to know, is there one thing you eat every single day to help you stay fit? "Egg whites," he revealed.
"I hate egg yolk — the smell of it makes me want to yack. [And] egg whites are super clean. They’re a really great source of protein and they're so easy to make. Just like a spritz of Pam, three quarters of a cup of egg whites, and some toast — and I’m good."
His date, Mercedes "MJ" Javid, reminded Reza that he loves to sip on ginormous iced coffees on the daily, too. "I love me a cold brew," Reza agreed.
He also said he keeps a snack nearby at all times so he doesn't find himself temped to grab unhealthful calories on the go. "I always have a very high-protein, low-carb bar in the car." Specifically, he's talking about Quest bars.
Copy that. But is there one thing Reza would never eat? "I’m not a big red meat eater. I’ve never eaten a steak in my life," he said. "So I guess a steak.
MJ reminded him, "Which one is the shellfish you don’t eat...?"
MJ piped in, "He's a complicated guy."
And Reza couldn't deny that. "I am — you would be surprised how I ended up so fat with all of the things I don't eat!"
