Southern Charm’s Kathryn Dennis has had more than her share of ups and downs over the past several years. Even so, she used her recent 31st birthday as an opportunity to turn her wounds into wisdom, sharing what she’s learned so far, in a reflective August 6 Instagram post.

Attaching a photo of herself wearing bib overalls, Kathryn wrote that with “another year in the books,” one major takeaway was “Life is tough, but I’m tougher.” The Southern Charm-er didn’t stop there, though, and ultimately included 17 more pearls of wisdom that she earned in her first 31 years of life, using an “in my thirties” hashtag.

On the topic of love, Kathryn dropped such nuggets as “when you’re in love, it shows,” “no one is perfect until you fall in love with them,” and that “love, not time, heals all wounds.” All of the above certainly could have applied to her roller-coaster relationship with Chleb Ravenell during this season of Southern Charm. Following their split, Kathryn revealed on the August 4 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she is still single and looking for a partner who’s “country, cool, passionate.”

Though Kathryn didn’t mention Chleb (or any other ex, for that matter) in her birthday post, she specifically referenced the 2019 death of her mother, Allison Calhoun Dennis, at age 59 following a cancer battle. I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away,” Kathryn wrote, leading into her next point: “Now is the only thing you have.”

That’s a lesson Kathryn may have had to learn early on, but heading into 31, she seems poised to make the most of her future.

You can relive a highlight from Kathryns drama-filled 30th birthday, featured earlier in this season of Southern Charm, in the video at the top of this post.
