How Is Whitney Sudler-Smith Doing After His Recent Surgery?
Mama Patricia Altschul offered an update on her Southern Charm son at BravoCon 2019.
Whitney Sudler-Smith is recovering after a recent rotator cuff surgery, with a little help from his Southern Charm pals. And when his mom, Patricia Altschul, was in NYC for BravoCon 2019, she offered an update on how her son is doing — and just why he needed the medical attention in the first place.
"Whitney had rotator cuff surgury at the Mayo Clinic," she told the crowd at BravoCon, before breaking down the events that led to his injury. "And I don't know if you remember Brandi, his 'assistant' [on the] first season, but they were all out one night and Whitney was standing with his back to her. And she jumped on his back, like piggy back, and made him fall to the street and she landed on top of him and crushed his shoulder."
She then went on to share a timeline on when he should be up and running and back to normal following the surgery in October. "So he had a very complicated surgery. It's very painful. It takes at least six months to recuperate," she said. "So he is at home and [his girlfriend] Larissa [Marolt] was with him this past week helping him do whatever she did to help him get through the pain and trauma."
Around the time of the surgery, Whitney offered up a few details about the surgery, telling fans on Instagram that doctors were going to "bionically reattach [his] arm at the Mayo Clinic."
He later added, "Many thanks to Dr. Camp and his Team [at the Mayo Clinic] for doing an outstanding job on my shoulder!"
