Craig Reveals Some of His “Favorite Things” in His Backyard (PICS)
The Southern Charm-er provided a closer look at his newly upgraded outdoor space.
Craig Conover is, once again, flexing his green thumb.
The Southern Charm cast member returned to Instagram on June 10 to share another glimpse at his newly upgraded outdoor space. But rather than show off some new installation or next-level amenity, Craig chose to highlight his impressive flower and vegetable garden.
“Some of my favorite things (in my backyard),” he captioned the first of several Stories.
Craig kicked things off by posting a photo of pink Egyptian star flowers, followed by close-up shots of his rocktrumpets, peppers, snap peas, and more. He shared the photos just hours before hosting a “Pillow Party” at the Sewing Down South flagship store in Charleston.
“I can’t wait to meet all of you,” he wrote in the last flower post. “And bring some gardening tips for me.”
Craig became interested in gardening as a kid
Although Craig began to showcase his gardening skills during the early seasons of Southern Charm, he previously revealed that his interest in gardening stemmed from his childhood.
In a 2017 interview with Decider, he shared that he’s “always been fascinated” with gardening. “Fortunately, my parents were real supportive with whatever I’d do. They let me go dig an 8x8 plot in our backyard in our sandy soil in Delaware and tried planting stuff.”
Craig said he became more serious about the hobby once he entered adulthood and had more resources.
“I’m kind of an adult with my own career and money now, I’m like wait, now I can do this gardening thing right,” he told Decider at the time, before describing his garden set-up at his previous home.
“I kind of went balls to the wall,” Craig explained. “I built grow shelves in the garage, then built raised beds and have an irrigation system, so it allows me, instead of having to ask my parents for a whole bunch of money to build some complex gardening setup, now I can just do it.”
Craig’s yard makeover has been months in the making
Craig has provided many updates on his backyard glow-up over the past year. The entrepreneur frequently took to social media to document the renovation stages and reveal key features, including his spacious screened-in porch with new windows, a sprawling deck, a mini golf course, a sizable pool, and a hot tub.
Visitors have been quite impressed by Craig’s yard remodel
Back in May, fellow Southern Charm-er Shep Rose stayed at Craig’s pad while his own home was being renovated. Shep shared his experience in a number of Instagram Stories, which provided a quick look at the incredible backyard space.
“So we’ve come a long way, I think everyone can attest to that,” Shep said as he pointed the camera toward the yard. “This is Craig’s new spread out behind his new house. He’s got a putting green; we just got out of the hot tub… the hot tub was sublime.”
Summer House’s Paige DeSorbo also helped her boyfriend add a few finishing touches to the yard. She showed off her contributions in a series of May 30 Instagram posts, in which she proudly showcased a patio umbrella she found online, as well as a sleek side table and a few throw pillows that were placed on a lounge chair.
“Obsessed,” she captioned one of the posts.
