Patricia Altschul Reveals Why Butler Michael Kelcourse Never Joins Her for Cocktails

Patricia Altschul’s butler, Michael Kelcourse, may be the man behind some of the most iconic, delicious cocktails in Charleston, but does he ever sit down to have a cocktail with the Southern Charm dame? According to Patricia, the answer is no, but it’s probably not for the reason you may think. 

In a May 17 Instagram post, Patricia shared a mouth-watering photo of a cool, summer-inspired cocktail Michael had made for her. “When you’ve got fresh pineapple, you make piña coladas. Thank you,” Patricia captioned the post, adding the hashtags #Michaelthebutler #vegan and #healthyliving. (If you’re curious, Patricia is not fully vegan. In response to a comment, she explained that she is “pseudo vegan” at the moment.) 

Although there was only one single cocktail in the photo, one of Patricia’s followers commented to ask if Michael ever plays the role of drinking buddy. “Do you and Michael ever enjoy a cocktail together?” wrote the commenter, to which Patricia responded, “Michael doesn’t drink.” 

Although Patricia and Michael are probably unlikely to share a boozy happy hour together, there are plenty of things the pair does to spend quality time with one another. In a 2019 interview with Decider, Michael noted that he and Patricia watch Southern Charm together regularly. 

“She and I will watch it continually because it’s on several time a week, but up until the time Mrs. Altschul and I started this, I had never seen Bravo,” he explained. 

Of course, that has since changed. Michael said he “continuously” keeps up with all of the drama between Southern Charm-ers. He even said, “I’m like the worm in the apple,” so it sounds like he truly does know it all!
