We Finally Know What Patricia Altschul's Butler Michael Kelcourse Really Thinks of All the Southern Charm Drama
He also shares what his relationship with Patricia's son, Whitney Sudler-Smith, is like.
There's only one person who is privy to all of the drama going down on Southern Charm, but somehow manages to stay out of it: Michael Kelcourse. Yes, Patricia Altschul's beloved butler has seen a lot of chaos go down at her iconic dinner parties over the years, but we've never really heard what he's had to say about it all — until now.
Michael shared during a recent interview with Decider he "continuously" keeps up with the drama between everyone on Southern Charm, adding, "I’m like the worm in the apple."
Michael said he watches the show with Patricia, who we can only imagine would be a fabulous viewing partner. "She and I will watch it continually because it’s on several times a week, but up until the time Mrs. Altschul and I started this, I had never seen Bravo," Michael said.
But now Bravo is one of the things he and Patricia bond over. "We love Bravo," Michael shared. "We also love to do things, silly things like we love to go to antiquing and to thrift stores."
Michael has a lot of love for the Charmers, especially Cameran Eubanks, who he memorably gave a foot massage when she was pregnant last season. "She’s like a daughter," he said. "I can’t imagine anything that she would ask that I would not do to help her."
Patricia's son, Whitney Sudler-Smith, is also like family to Michael. "Sometimes I think of him as a stepson because he’s just a nice kid and whenever he needs advice I give it to him," he told Decider. "If we have a problem, we’ll figure it out just like two friends."
But Michael will never become a literal stepfather to Whitney, according to Patricia. The Southern Charm grand dame confirmed that nothing romantic has ever transpired between them when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this month. "Honey, this is a professional relationship," she said. "It is between employer and employee, and we respect and admire each other."
