Shep Rose Reveals a Secret to His House Decor & Teases a Possible Major Move
The Southern Charm-er made a surprising confession about his bedding and sleeping habits.
It’s no secret that Shep Rose appreciates the finer things in life. But when it comes to high-quality bedsheets, the man couldn’t care less.
Shep made the admission in a recent BravoTV.com interview that shed more light on his spending habits and those of his fellow Southern Charm-ers. The 3-minute video, titled “High or Low,” had a simple yet intriguing objective: to find out what the cast spends on everyday products and services, like underwear, groceries, haircuts, and bedding.
How much does the Southern Charm cast spend on bedding?
When it came to the latter category, Madison LeCroy admitted she likes to go all out: “I spend a lot of money on my bedding,” she said. “I have this topper on there that monitors my heart rate, my oxygen levels — you spend half of your life in your bed. Invest in it, you know?”
Austen Kroll revealed he also balls out when it comes to his bedroom decor.
“Now that I have three bedrooms, I spend more money on bedding than I do on hair and face products combined,” he said.
Patricia Altschul echoed Austen and Madison, insisting “high-quality bedding is the most important.”
“I have the finest European sheets, which come from France,” she said.
Shep Rose shares a surprising fact about his sleeping habits
But unlike his castmates, Shep doesn’t prioritize top-tier bedding. In fact, he claims to rarely sleep in his bed.
“Thread count, don’t care,” he said during the sitdown. “I sleep on the couch mostly.”
Shep also claimed he spends no more than $20 on a haircut and spends very little at the grocery store.
“I usually get extra toasty Cheez-Its and a case of beer. It’s pretty caveman,” he said with a laugh.
However, the South Carolina native suggested there’s one essential that he doesn’t mind splurging on: his undergarments.
“I like underwear,” he admitted. “I’m not like Craig [Conover], who goes au naturale.”
Shep Rose says he may buy a home out West
Although he isn’t dropping a lot of money on bedding, haircuts, or groceries, Shep recently considered making a big home purchase and a possible move. He shared the news while speaking to BravoTV.com, saying he was “looking at houses at West.”
“In Montana, Wyoming. Colorado. I did a tour of out West,” he said. “I ended up having a hell of a lot of fun... seeing some real estate, meeting some cool people. But the interest rates, the mortgage rates, it’s just. Crazy. It’s not the right time. Not now. But I do love out West. I do love Montana, and fishing and hunting and stuff.”
