Leva Bonaparte Shares What Republic Is “Really Known For” and It Might Surprise You
The Southern Charm-er detailed what truly sets her bustling Charleston nightclub apart from the rest.
Leva Bonaparte’s Republic Garden & Lounge is known for a lot of things: incredible decor, see-and-be-seen parties, and of course, a whole lot of drama, now featured on Southern Hospitality.
Another thing that makes the popular nightclub truly unique is its distinct bottle service, which has a very special feature.
“Republic is really known for the biggest champagne bottles in the state [of South Carolina] — the bottles that are literally the size of a small child,” Leva shared with BravoTV.com in November. “You need four people to carry them out.”
While Leva’s Charleston establishment has typical pub fare, her Mexican and Asian fusion spot, MESU, offers a unique menu inspired by some of the Southern Charm-er’s very specific cravings.
“I was five months’ pregnant [and] I couldn’t have sushi. All I was doing was eating taco nacho platters and I was just like, ‘You know what? If I could just have […] a piece of sushi and some guacamole in my mouth with salsa… that would be amazing,” Leva shared, joking how her husband called her “insane” for the peculiar request.
“But think about it: All the best Mexican food, all the best sushi that we love, all in one spot,” she stated of her other King Street locale, which has menu items like habanero glazed edamame and a truffled tuna rice bowl.
