Lindsay Hubbard Explains Why She's Staying in the NYC Apartment She Rented with Carl Radke
The Summer House cast member shared new details of her living situation following her recent split.
It's been more than a month since Lindsay Hubbard confirmed her split from Carl Radke and the Summer House cast member is ready to move forward.
From selling her diamond engagement ring to planning a memoir, it's clear Lindsay is ready to build anew. One thing she's not parting with? The gorgeous Manhattan apartment she rented with Carl (for $13,000/month, nonetheless — more on that later).
Read on to see why the NYC resident has decided to stay put in her midtown abode (see a tour of the space in the video above).
Is Lindsay Hubbard still living in the apartment she shared with Carl Radke?
Following the former couple's split, which came shortly before their planned November 2023 wedding, Lindsay spoke with Us Weekly in a recent interview, chatting about the details of the breakup. When questioned about her current living situation, Lindsay shared a potentially surprising update, explaining why she planned on staying put for the time being.
"I live there. I love my apartment. I spent a lot of time, money, and effort to make this home comfortable for us, for him to then burn it down," Lindsay stated. "And at this point, I’m not in the mind space to think about, '"Oh, where am I gonna live now?'"
Lindsay Hubbard reveals why she and Carl Radke paid $13,000 in monthly rent for their apartment
We first got wind of the apartment's price tag during a Summer House Season 7 episode when Lindsay and Carl hosted a housewarming party. During a conversation on the former couple's massive balcony, Paige DeSorbo casually mentioned to her castmates Gabby Prescod, Samantha Feher, and Ciara Miller that Lindsay and Carl were paying $13,000 in monthly rent for the apartment. While Gabby gasped, Samantha asked, “I’m sorry, what? It’s 13?”
Following the episode, when Lindsay appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the titular host asked about her and Carl’s decision to rent: “Have you guys considered buying a place instead of renting?”
“Yes, and we talked about this at the [Season 6] reunion,” Lindsay responded. “So the market was so extraordinarily awful last year, and we wanted to move in [together]. COVID prices, they shot down, and then they all of a sudden inflated. The market in New York has just been tough.”
She added: “If you break $13,000 apart, it’s $6,500 a person, which is really only $200 more than what I was paying at my last apartment,” she continued. “OK, so it’s really not that crazy from my last apartment.”
