Emily Simpson Gets "in Trouble" for Her Friendships with RHOC Alums: "Oh Well"
The Real Housewives of Orange County lawyer dishes on her relationships with Alexis Bellino, Gretchen Rossi, and more.
Emily Simpson may be a recent addition to The Real Housewives of Orange County, but she has a strong connection to the past. It seems like Emily is friends with basically every RHOC alum, including Gretchen Rossi, Lizzie Rovsek, Lauri Peterson, Lynne Curtin, and, as we found out during Tuesday night's episode, Alexis Bellino.
"I've known Alexis for a couple of years. We actually kind of live in the same area, and she is friends with some of my friends, so I've always run into her and talked to her at mutual birthday parties for kids and things like that. We meet for coffee and just kind of chit chat," Emily recently told The Daily Dish during an interview in New York City. "I mean, I've been friends with Lizzie for years, way before I was ever on the show. Yeah, Alexis and I know each other, so it is a very small world."
Unfortunately, Emily can't give us any intel on Alexis' handsome new beau Andy Bohn since she hasn't met him in person yet, but from what she knows and sees of the couple, she can tell that Alexis has found love again.
"I'm sure I will [meet him] eventually. I know she's very into him. They are like in love, and it's great. I'm happy for her," Emily said. "She's just smitten. So it's nice to see, you know, because that's how you should feel."
Of course, maintaining friendships with your fellow OC Housewives as well as alums is a tricky balance, considering the fact that past and present members of the RHOC crew don't always get along. Braunwyn Windham-Burke found that out the hard way this season when it was revealed that she had been texting Lizzie and Gretchen, much to the chagrin of Tamra Judge, who isn't in the best place with the alums.
But Emily said she's going to be friends with whoever she pleases. "Yeah, I mean, it is difficult, but I feel like we're not in high school anymore, so whatever conflict Tamra has with other people doesn't have anything to do with me," she said. "I wasn't involved in it, I have nothing to do with it, so I really just base my friendships on my relationship with that person. So it gets me in trouble, but oh well."
